Інколи навіть з хвилину. Я не знаю як влаштовані "мізки" додатку, але можу припустити що ці зависання відбуваються коли закладки сканують збережені в браузері закладки, тим самим створюючи підвисання. Як варіант можна зроби завантаження закладок після того як відобразить старі закладки, і оновить їх по завершенню сканування.

I like the add-on, but there’s one 'but' I’d love to see fixed. Sometimes, after using the browser for a long time, the bookmarks take forever to load—occasionally even up to a minute. I don't know how the add-on's 'brains' work, but I assume these freezes happen when it scans the bookmarks already saved in the browser, causing the lag. As a workaround, maybe you could load the existing bookmarks first and then update them once the scan is complete?

When the extension is opened, it requests the list of bookmarks for the currently active folder only once. It's unlikely that the browser's bookmarks API, which provides that list, is the bottleneck. And even if it is, that's outside of the extension's control.
If your folder contains thousands (or even tens of thousands) of bookmarks and you're using a relatively modest computer, then yes, the browser API may take longer to return the list. However, at that point my extension is probably not the best tool for the job anyway. Rendering thousands of bookmark cards and keeping them interactive will inevitably lead to performance issues.
If you really have thousands of bookmarks in a single folder, I'd recommend using an extension that displays them as a simple text list instead.

The only thing I miss, which Bookdial has, is the option to have all bookmark folders always on screen, making it much easier to access them. Any chance you could implement this option?

Have been using a lot of "new tab"/"speed dial" extensions along the years, and this is the first that 1) allows you to have total control, and relies only on your bookmarks 2) is available on all browsers 3) is lightweight 4) supports folders.
Pro tip: On firefox, if you want to open certain bookmarks with a Firefox container, you can do so by adding the shortcuts on the fast access panel on the upper right (if the panel is not active it's one of the first General options). It can handle 1000s of bookmarks and can enlarge thumbnails for true gallery viewing. Beats raindrop or even pinterest for my use. Thanks for all your work Ivan

Try setting it in your browser preferences:
1) To find the URL of the extension, open the extension's settings page (click the gear icon in the top-left corner). You’ll see the URL of the settings page(in the address bar), which will look something like this:
moz-extension://1f5e2951-cc18-45bc-ab08-e3d37f733710/options.html
Replace the options part of the URL with newtab, so it becomes:
moz-extension://your_extension_id/newtab.html
2) Then, type the following into the address bar:
about:preferences#home
There, you’ll find the field called "Home page and new windows".
