postet 11 dager sidenHi,
Could you please reach me at hello@super-agent.com? This shouldn't happen.- Vurdert til 2 ut av 5av Drago, 19 dager sidenUpdate from 09.09.2025:
This addon seem to work pretty well, its one of the few not being scam and with real hard working devs behind it. The cookie protection differs from other addons which proofs you indeed use your own algorithm and don't just copy script from others. With outstanding results! Unfortunately, this addon is not only not longer free but the authors were really non-transparent about it:
In August 2025 "Super Agent" turned into a subscription model, which may be okay (you two guys keep working hard for providing support and updates).
BUT: You really should be honest with users - you know FF auto-updates Addons by default. You should make a disclaimer and exposing the last free version for all those users who just want to continue the free (unmaintained) addon. Even better: Providing a link to it with instruction how to stop auto-update in FF. Also, your addon history completely lacks of changelogs - uncool :(
Since you did not do this, this is the reason for [-2 stars].
One additional [-1 star] for not adding the purple commercial $ category in FF store to your addon. You better do that if you not want somebody to report it.
End of review (only some additional info):
I am not much of a programmer, but very experienced in testing ad blocker addons for FF for about 10 years now. For years now "Adguard", "Super Agent" (has AI) and "I [still] don't care about cookies" (static list - always up to date) are outstanding winners for cookie consent. But I think the most honorable engine is included in "Cookie-Banner-Blocker" (otsmr) as it contains multi-level detection but continuing development is abandond by now.
You should add the latter engine to yours and make some exceptions for pages like apps.datev.de (auto-logout even if added to your whitelist) and reCaptchas in general as Cookie-Banner-Blocker has a false positive there (it wrongly block all Captchas).Utviklerrespons
postet 19 dager sidenHi,
Thanks for the review! You can downgrade the version at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/super-agent/versions/
I don't think your suggestion is very reasonable because most of the work we do is on the Back end, so the unmaintained version would (and will) work for a long long time without any real issues, as it will now if you choose to downgrade.
I think it is nice on our end to let the users downgrade, but actively informing and teaching users how not to pay would be counter productive. There is a need for revenue to be able to keep adding more websites. If you don't want to pay that's fine, but you need to be the one learning how to downgrading and doing some work for it.
Again, regarding changelogs, 99% of our updates are related to adding more websites and providers. We are a one feature extension, there aren't really any new features being added. We just focus on supporting more sites, more speed, and adding new cookie providers. Our changelogs are either bugfixes, or changing our code so we become faster, or adding a new way of clicking buttons to work on a new provider.
Also, the addon works for 40 sites a week, hence us not requiring a purple commercial $ category. The addon works for free, it works better and on more sites if you pay for it.
Lastly: Cookie banner blocker doesn't work the same way. We actively enforce consent (either reject or accept based on categories) by clicking the checkboxes and buttons. Most other products simply block the banner or hide it, often causing problems or crashing websites.
Thanks again for the review, just a pity we couldn't get one from you when we were outstanding and free! - Vurdert til 2 ut av 5av jesusjimsa, én måned sidenThe extension itself works fine, but they have started charging for it.
Initially, it was completely free on both iOS and desktop. After that, they started charging on iOS after three pop-ups were blocked, but said that desktop would remain free.
However, I've just received a message from the extension saying that they will also only allow three blocks per day on desktop.
Consent-O-Matic is completely free, works just as well (or even better) most of the time, and is open source.
The daily messages telling me to pay on iOS were annoying; I won't put up with them on desktop either. It was nice while it lasted, but I'm going to uninstall it.
If you're OK with paying, go for it — it's a fine extension. Otherwise, just install Consent-O-Matic. - Vurdert til 2 ut av 5av Firefox-bruker 19413785, én måned sidenSadly, a case study as to why to not enable automatic updates. Clippy and Louis Rossmann would be sad. Created an account to review due to recent changes.
I will give the author credit where it is due, he seems to be updating the extension regularly. It's now on version 3.31 and as far as I can tell, the subscription wording was added back 3.29, and I've since downgraded to 3.28 and will leave it there until I find a replacement. I will also give the author credit for creating a popup to let me know as I hadn't realized it had stopped working. And I learned that downgrading an extension is a built in feature of Firefox.
The only other extension I know that charges is PushBullet, but their free option is quite more generous than '3 times a day.' I also rather look at it that something has changed for the developer as he now feels he needs funds and hope things turn out well for him. It's easier to think that, than something like he just got greedy. Or maybe it's better the other way around?
For what it claims, it seems to do what is says. Only had some issues with locally hosted sites, but the blacklist feature is useful enough for that.
Edit:
Updated to 2 stars due to friendly developer response. I cannot go farther than that because they change the extension after the fact. Would have no issue if it was like that from the start. It's unfortunate because I see where the developer is coming from (as a programmer myself) and I understand the thought process, but can't support the act. If you see this Francisco, I thank you for your offer, but I'll have to refuse on principle.Utviklerrespons
postet én måned sidenHi
Thanks for the fair and detailed review. Happy to offer you a year long license. I am also glad to know its possible to downgrade as I understand maybe not everyone will be willing to pay, and that way you have a solution. Unfortunately we are two people working almost full time here, and for this to be viable we need to charge a subscription. I don't think 1$ is greedy or unfair, but if people don't like it they can downgrade or stop using it.
Best regards

- Vurdert til 2 ut av 5av MarkToon, 3 år sidenPotentially a fantastic addon, but in use it seems to really slow down FireFox on all platforms.
Get this issue resolved and your onto a winner, likely up there with some of the most popular.
Until then, it's on ice. - Vurdert til 2 ut av 5av MR, 4 år sidenBe careful: Please read the privacy policy! The addons collects usage data.

postet 4 år sidenHi MR, Super Agent only collects a Random UUID for analytical purpose. All the other data mentioned in the privacy was opt-in only and has been deprecated with the last update.

(clear the cookies 1st in your browser before test)
for example the cookies messages of the site
https://www.thomann.de/
same problem with the addon "Auto Cookie Optout"
EDIT: to answer the developper:
No www.thomann.de has still the same problem, so i don't know how you test your algorithm recognition.Utviklerrespons
postet 4 år sidenThank you for reporting these. We've released new detection rules for them and they should be working soon. Feel free to reach out at hello@super-agent.com when you find such cases. We're constantly improving our detection engine, so the more you report, the better your experience will be in the future :) - Vurdert til 2 ut av 5av Firefox-bruker 17173998, 4 år sidenThis extension feels underbaked. I liked that you could select which type of cookies to accept so I switched from the I Don't Care About Cookies extension to Super Agent. Just in the past hour or two, I've run into two websites where Super Agent didn't detect their cookie prompts. Needs a single-click reporting feature for websites where the cookie prompt isn't caught by the extension.

postet 4 år sidenHi,
Thanks for the feedback, you can already report websites not supported. You just need to click the extension icon and "Report a Problem".
Thanks!
