21 dagen geleden geplaatstHi, thanks for the review! Yes, this is a known issue that started happening with the most recent version of Firefox. I already have a fix in that will go out with the next release. - Waardering: 4 van 5door aljustiet, één maand geledenI think it would be great to have duplicates in the tab stash.

21 dagen geleden geplaatstI'm not sure exactly what you mean—Tab Stash will allow you to stash duplicates if you explicitly select the tabs you want to stash. However, feel free to open an issue on GitHub if you'd like to discuss further! - Waardering: 4 van 5door Carbon, één maand geledenBeen using this add-on for years and it's truly great. Please kindly fix the 'stash this tab' icon on dark mode since it remains black after some firefox update..

één maand geleden geplaatstThanks for letting me know, I've made a note to look into it. It seems Firefox may have broken the workaround I was using to switch the icon's theme for dark mode. And thank you for the review! - Waardering: 4 van 5door Aksarnerk, 2 maanden geledenIt's a wonderful add-on. It has a very powerful interface that offers great flexibility.
Implementing the data store in the form of bookmarks is a great idea. It’s a major help in a world where no browser yet understands the concept of ubiquity, the importance of having a robust implementation of workspaces that allow us to maintain consistency across the many computers we might use.
I would just appreciate if it were able to save and restore the pinned status of the tabs. The data layer allows for this; Firefox bookmarks let you assign a tag like “*Pinned”, which in my opinion would be the ideal and most simple way to store this attribute.
It would also be great if we could open a Tab Stash group as a Firefox tab group, or even open a TS group in FF along with its sub-groups (at least the top-level ones; in this regard, TS far surpasses the capabilities of FF tab grouping), accurately reflecting this “tree” structure.
If these features exist, I haven't been able to find them.
In any case, it's fantastic; the kind of add-on you'll find hard to do without once you start using it. Thanks so much, Josh.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
2 maanden geleden geplaatstThank you for the thoughtful and kind words! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this up.
Regarding the pinned status, unfortunately Firefox does not expose any APIs for extensions to use to edit tags and keywords—there's no way for me to store metadata along with a bookmark outside its URL and title. I wish there were because there is a lot more that could be done, but this is unfortunately not an option.
Regarding tab groups, I agree with you—it's a feature I'm actively working on but isn't ready yet. Unfortunately, it's taking me quite a long time due to life getting in the way, and due to the fact that it is a major change to how Tab Stash works internally and how it communicates with Firefox. I also want to make sure I get the feature right and that it doesn't feel bolted-on to how the extension works. So it may take a while longer yet, but it'll happen eventually!
And again, thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot! I'm happy to hear Tab Stash is working well for you. And of course, feel free to reach out on GitHub if anything ever comes up. - Waardering: 4 van 5door Doug, 5 maanden geledenOverall, I liked it very much, was easy to use. HOWEVER, I just went through an upgrade fo Fedora, and related apps, and TAB STASH was removed as an extention in FireFox. As a result, I've lost all the TABS I specifically stashed to protect through the upgrade!
Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
5 maanden geleden geplaatstNo idea why it would be removed in Firefox, unless the upgrade somehow completely wiped out your Firefox profile. But, assuming your profile (with all your other Firefox settings etc.) is still intact, your stashed tabs should still be there in your bookmarks! And you should still be able to reinstall Tab Stash from here and everything should continue to work. - Waardering: 4 van 5door FireFox-User-1, 5 maanden geledenNearly a perfect extension with really BAD DESIGN DECISIONS FOR RESEARCH!
Why there is no easy naming like "into stash" and "out of stash" ?
Why stashing in disappears the NEEDED stashes?
Why Stashing out ADDS to the open ones when you only want to change a group and access that group?
Really the option to go in the bookmarks makes it the only acceptable Tabber but the work-flow-design are absolutely illogical and exactly what you want a Tabber not to do.
Tabbers are for instant access and not also chitchat with the tool!
So yes absolutely use it, but be aware of the 100%+ workload add-on for working with the tool.
As the tools most useful option is to save the work not making it easier in the flow.
So if the Dev can would address that, you really need no other tab-add-ons or even session manangers as all goes into the bookmark!!!
This is an impressive option!!!
Great work on that Dev!!!Antwoord van ontwikkelaar

And/or, feel free to open a new issue / new issues on GitHub for the things you think are missing or unintuitive, and I'd be happy to discuss further. Thanks for the comments! - Waardering: 4 van 5door Nana, 10 maanden geledenGreat app and EXACTLY what I needed as other tab management apps couldn't deliver in terms of management, separation and stability. That being said, I would really love it if there was another way to rescan for titles and headers AFTER importing tabs from URLs. Some of them seem to have failed as I was moving them and the only option to retry the scan is just to retrieve the icons (which it already has so the button does nothing.) Unfortunately, I don't have a github account to reach out with this complaint.

10 maanden geleden geplaatstThanks for the review! A quick hack for doing this is to open the tab that failed during the import, then click the yellow "Edit" button next to the stashed tab that appears when hovering over it, and clear out whatever title Tab Stash had given it before. Tab Stash will then pick up the title from the open tab.
Hope this helps! Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
één jaar geleden geplaatstGlad you like it! Unfortunately a Chrome port isn't likely any time soon because there are some unique Firefox capabilities that Tab Stash uses which just aren't available in Chrome. But I appreciate the interest!- Waardering: 4 van 5door Melinda Josh, één jaar geleden

Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
2 jaar geleden geplaatstTab Stash does allow duplicates, yes. It used to remove them, but in my experience, this caused some pretty surprising behavior that people were unhappy with (sometimes creating duplicates is intentional), so I haven't found a good way to bring this functionality back yet. Thanks for the comment though! - Waardering: 4 van 5door jojojo, 2 jaar geleden
- Waardering: 4 van 5door GenericUser, 2 jaar geledenA bit buggy and slows down my browser (due to storing tabs as bookmarks but not fully closing the tab) turning the extension off and on fixes the browser. (turning off and on the extension also results in a hundred or so tabs of bookmarks being reopened but holding ctrl + w fixes that quick issue) (I think this may just be due to a limitation of the browser or some kind of bug)

2 jaar geleden geplaatstTab Stash uses Firefox's built-in tab-hiding feature to hide stashed tabs instead of closing them entirely. This allows the tab state to be preserved (vs. closing the tab, which loses all the state). If you accumulate too many hidden tabs, Tab Stash will unload them to make sure your browser doesn't slow down.
If you find this bothersome, you can change Tab Stash's settings so that tabs are entirely closed instead of hidden. There is also a "middle ground" option to unload hidden tabs immediately, so they remain open but don't use any resources.
Hope this helps!
- Waardering: 4 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 5905964, 2 jaar geleden
- Waardering: 4 van 5door aforest, 2 jaar geledenThis is an excellent add-on with a great UI and the ability to import and export to multiple formats with zero lock-in. The only thing I find missing is the ability do disable the address bar button which I only click by accident and don't really find useful.

2 jaar geleden geplaatstFirefox unfortunately removed this option recently, but I'll look into whether it's possible to offer in Tab Stash itself. Thanks for the suggestion! - Waardering: 4 van 5door thunder_dream, 2 jaar geleden
- Waardering: 4 van 5door Josh, 3 jaar geledenNice Add-On... quite helpful in many ways... some very neat ways... however, a lot of trial & error experimenting is needed to realize the depth of capabilities in TAB STASH.
A fully developed "HOW TO BEST USE TAB STASH" with all How TO in one, organized location, would make things a lot easier.
For example, using the new SubGroups capability, for which we are all grateful, is less than intuitive (at least for me & a couple of others), it would be nice to get an overview of how it works. Thanks.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
3 jaar geleden geplaatstThanks for your comments! Definitely agree that some experimentation is required to get the most out of Tab Stash, and it's not always intuitive how to use it (a thing I am constantly working at improving).
I'll keep your suggestion of a how-to in mind! - Waardering: 4 van 5door Luke, 3 jaar geledenReally great, would love to be able to customise how/where the folder of tabs is saved though, rather than going Other Bookmarks > Tab Stash > saved-timestamp. Let me specify location and name either in options with rules, or as I hit the button, and it'd let me organise my tabs into bookmarks just perfectly. Still, very good! Much better than OneTab and other solutions for getting tabicitis under control and saving them to bookmarks. Finally someone did it!
