But I fixed by adding to exclude list on CCleaner
the following 2 files: https://imgur.com/a/k6kR800
Hope it will give you a clue since i am not a programmer like you.
On a Win 10 64bit, Firefox 88 (i need chrome folder for some tabs skin tweak)
This add-on "forgets" the 2 selected (and saved) search engines (Google & Yandex),
and searches just on Google (which is also set by me as the main search engine of the browser)
It needs a new save on the already selected engines to "refresh" the memory of the add-on.
Could you check what's happening?
Is there any temporary cookie or validity of the saved choice that will expire after awhile?

This should not happen, the selection should stick and persist after restarts, etc.. Does this happen after a browser restart or just after some time? Do you have some specific about:config flags set that could cause this? Feel free to create an issue on GitHub: https://github.com/Brawl345/Image-Reverse-Search-WebExtension/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Aupdated-desc

However, if I don't use it for a while, the “Reverse Image Search” option sometimes disappears from the context menu without warning. I don't know why this happens. In that case, opening the options screen and clicking “Save Options” will restore it.

Data: 2 miesiące temuYou need to right click on an image, it only shows up when you can also open the image in a new tab, etc.- Ocena: 5/5Autor: Joshua, 2 miesiące temuWhen I switched my default search engine to Ecosia.org, I lost "search for image" in my context menu. This extension puts that back in, with multiple choices, including google.

- Tried it Feb. 2025 with jpg's from my pc opened into Firefox, hoping it would invoke google lens. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work at all on images from the pc; all search engines respond something like Oops or "couldn't upload image". Hoping there's an improvement available...

Data: rok temuThis won't work, this add-on is explicitly designed for images on the web because it needs to access public URLs. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: ibillingsley, rok temu

The only thing that could make it better is if it didn't switch to the new tab when searching, but not sure if that is possible with addons.
Edit: Dev replied saying feature already existed, making it better! The options are tricky to find with extensions.Odpowiedź autora
Data: 2 lata temuCheck the addon options, there is "Open in background" (sorry for the late answer!)
EDIT 2: In the newest version you can now click the extension button to open the options. Should be easier to find now. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Matthew, 2 lata temu

It was a little hard for me to find the settings. You have to go to Firefox' extensions settings, and on the Reverse Image Search details page (you can also get here directly from the extension's own icon, via the "Manage Extension" link), you click the three dots icon to the right of the on/off toggle button and there's a link to the the preferences. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 17064427, 3 lata temu
