Original Review:
This is almost perfect, but KeePassXC-Browser is having problems with certain websites which require more than a UserID and Password field.
For example, on the American Airlines site, a username, *last name* and PW are required. While KeePassXC allows me to enter additional attributes like "Last Name: Doe" into advanced, there does not seem to be a way to invoke pasting it into the form.
Even If one uses the "choose custom login fields" there is no way to set the last name field as one of the options . . .
Ah, well. At least there is auto-type! :-)
EDIT: The developer is fantastically responsive, as seen below (and I was also e-mail directly with further comments, a nice touch!). I pointed out the built-in documentation (of KeePassXC) is missing the "KPH:" detail (required in KeePassXC-**Browser**) given in the response (but *is* shown in the online docs which I had not yet read).
Hopefully the built-in docs and online docs become better synchronized.
If you anyone still has problems with KeePassXC-Browser, it seems there are other Firefox add-ons which can connect to KeePassXC such as "KeePassHttp-Connector."
Also, standalone add-ons such as "Owl" (not yet reviewed, but much newer than...) or "KeePass Tusk" make the promise of not needing to install a connector to KeePassXC in the first place.

Data: 6 lat temuYou can solve this by making a new attribute "KPH: LastName" to your entry. Then use Custom Login fields and select the Last name field as a String Field after selecting username/password/TOTP (obviously skip the TOTP).

So far I have not found any working method to get passwords out of keepass other than copy/pasting from the program apart from on an iPhone.

Data: 3 dni temuThere are two ways you can get credentials out from KeePassXC: using the browser extension, or using Auto-Type. Please refer to our documention for guides: https://keepassxc.org/docs/ - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Blood-Art, 10 dni temu

Then open it. Prompt me for the database password. Why can the DB be opened on demand to retrieve passwords, but not to save them? I should not be expected to keep my database open all the time. That is an obvious security vulnerability. So I have it configured to close after 30 seconds. I do not understand why this Addon is so hostile to on-demand database access.Odpowiedź autora

One remark: though firefox now honors XDG config settings in $HOME/.config/mozilla/firefox (on Linux) the extension creates a $HOME/.mozilla/native-messaging-hosts. I'd like so see all config for an application on one single place only. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Użytkownik Firefoksa 12539057, 2 miesiące temu

Data: 2 miesiące temuActually there's already pull requests made for a websocket connection mode in both extension and KeePassXC. It works with Flatpak browsers. So it's coming :) - Ocena: 5/5Autor: Matthieu, 2 miesiące temu
- Ocena: 1/5Autor: Abdiel, 2 miesiące temuIt only has offline support. On Linux the configuration is a mess. Sometimes It doesn't talk with my desktop app. Remote support should also be added, so 1 star. I also noticed this while using it: not everything is handled within the browser. When the master password is requested, It switches to the KeepassXC desktop window which makes the experience less convenient. MasterPassword could instead be entered through a small pop-up inside the browser. This is what I would have preferred.

Data: 2 miesiące temuThe whole idea of the extension is that it talks to the desktop app. It has no direct connection to your database, and it will never ask your master password. - Ocena: 5/5Autor: toorootoot, 2 miesiące temu

I know this depends of Keepassxc development, but it would be nice if card info can be stored.
