Great little addon. So helpful to have a place to jot down notes, links, text etc. while you are on the web. Note: to access the Note Sidebar options like multiple notes, password protection for notes and background schemes, you need to go to: Extensions>Manage Extensions>Note Sidebar>Three little dots on the right>Options

    As a Vivaldi user who has recently transitioned over to a gecko engine browser, this extension is something I needed a lot to keep track of my progress regarding stuff to do and for making plans. The fact that it doesn't required any permissions whatsoever is already a huge plus in my book compared to other similar extensions like this out there that needs perms to function properly.

    If possible, I would liked it if you could allowed users to freely create several notes as separate tabs from each other on the sidebar. This is to help reduce sole reliance on just having one note alone shared across the whole browser for jotting down everything when users should be able to have a different note per tab. Additionally, let us renamed/titled each note to complement such a possible feature.

    EDIT: Thanks for the feedback. It seems I overlook the advanced option side of the settings.

    You can already create multiple notes in one sidebar (default is this option is disabled for new users). Open the Note Sidebar Options page -> Advanced Options tab. Enable the checkbox to show multiple tab strips. Where each tab have his own note.

    This extension is great, but can you add a tool that can edit or choose specific language spelling? That will be more great. Anyway, thanks.

    Your Firefox web browser manages the spelling, go to the Firefox settings page to manage the language.

    It would be great if the extension didn't require permissions to access website content through script injection (for parsing). There are notepads that allow you to copy text from a page in the context menu, and they don't require permissions. Like Simple Notes by Firefox user 13383197. Cool notepad!

    The Note Sidebar firefox extension use minimum permision:
    "permissions": ["contextMenus", "storage", "unlimitedStorage", "scripting", "activeTab"],

    That is needed, else I can not receive the selected input from the context menu in the Note Sidebar.

    It needs "scripting", and the currenct active tab to get this data from the web page.

    I wish there was was an expandable menu that you could open up to have multiple tabs, that you can switch inbetween whenever you want, quite like when your using the AI sidebar chatbots where there is a menu to be able to open up other conversations with the chatbot. The ablitly to be able to change fonts, charecter sising, colour and alot more would be appretiated aswell.

    Futer me here, I just found the "Options" page for the extentions and I'm now hugely grateful for the extention, Thanks Stefan!

    Крутое приложение для браузера. Особенно радует интеграция с боковой панелью в Floorp. Удобно быстро делать заметки какие-то а потом возвращаться к ним через неделю чтобы их перенести в обсидиан например. Хочется еще чтобы добавили хоть простенькое какое-нибудь форматирование к заметкам и возможность видеть несколько заметок одновременно (тип какие ранее создавал чтобы потом к ним потом вернуться и прочитать)

    华而不实的扩展。
    没有快捷键，没有设置界面，更没有它宣称的信纸背景和导出选项。
    它导出内容的方式居然是靠复制加粘贴？？？
    简直离谱。

    The features I mention are available in the Note Sidebar Firefox extension. In Firefox, the options page is not easily accessible via right-click -> Options on the Note Sidebar icon, unlike other web browsers such as Google Chrome.
    To enable certain features, such as changing the paper wallpaper, font color, rich text, etc., follow these steps:
    1. Go to the page:
    about:addons
    2. Search for "Note Sidebar for Firefox"
    3. Click on the three dots icon and then on "Preferences"
    4. The Note Sidebar Options page will now appear

    First impressions were good, but my usecase needs the ability to take/have multiple pages of notes saved. I'll keep searching.

    The Note Sidebar browser extension simplifies taking quick notes from your Firefox sidebar. You can take multiple notes that on different tabs. See in the Note Sidebar Options page -> for multiple notes.
    Additionally, you can export your notes to a txt file. Check out the options page of the Note Sidebar browser extension for more details.
