I have used this addon for 4-5 years without a hazzle. But this morning it stopped accepted my password.

Luckily I make weekly backups of the mozilla folder so I still have access to my hidden links by restoring the latest backup with a working password.

So I will recommend doing backups in case the password suddenly fails.

Hey Danny Champ, you're a fool. Addons don't have access to your Mozilla Firefox profile. "Private Bookmarks" only puts your passwords locally on one device! )))

Great app when it works, sadly it has stopped saving bookmarks lately

The shortcut to unlock the bookmarks doesn't work. I've checked in firefox and it's correctly assigned, it used to work but after a fresh install it's broken.

It seems the function to "sync bookmarks and preferences across devices" is broken as of at least Firefox 84. While it was enabled, I was unable to make any changes to the bookmarks I had (anything I added, deleted, renamed, ...) was reverted everytime I closed Firefox. With that feature off, it seems to be working fine. A little less useful than before, but better than not working any more at all. :-)

just getting started with this, but seems promising, well done! was hoping to get some stats on number of bookmarks/folders and last bookmarked/date stats. When I copied and pasted a folder of bookmarks it took a long time to populate in the private bookmarks folder, why is that? I think it got all of them though, but for a sec it looked like it only got a few as it was copying them over.

edit: oof ok, so it does show that I have 2630 tabs that I copied in there, but I don't understand why locking and unlocking takes so long, is it the encryption/decryption? It takes over a minute to unlock and populate the folder and the restore progress counter (i.e. ###/2630) goes away if I click away and it is replaced by the lock option again. If I lock while it is restoring that seems like it would be bad and then if I put a new bookmark in there while it is still restoring would that not be good either? I'm guessing this won't scale out well if I have to load more and more bookmarks in there, maybe it was just designed for a few bookmarks

Worked great but forgot to lock it before closing Firefox. Lost a couple hundred bookmarks the first day. Live and learn
