- Avaliado em 5 de 5por ab, há 15 diasFair warning: the extension will cost you money after the first 20 image translations.
But imo it's worth it because:
The extension actually works, lol. This differentiates it from the other dozen ones I've tried which have invariably sucked or plain not worked at all.
I use it to translate random jp/cn/kr comics on pixiv. It's super convenient, text in the images gets translated right there on the screen.
The translations aren't always perfect (it can struggle with hand-writing), but it's FAR better than what you get by pasting the image into google translate/google lens.
The interface is super easy to use, too. You don't even need to instruct it which language it is looking at. - Avaliado em 5 de 5por Nimi, há 15 diasClean and fast.
The translated texts are very readable texts and are within the speech bubbles(other scanlation extensions/sites just slaps white textboxes on top of the speech bubbles, etc) which makes it looks clean.
If you are looking for something to translate those untranslated works, do give this extension a try. - Avaliado em 5 de 5por megamouse, há 18 diasthis is currently one of the best image translation extensions, and it’s far superior to other tools. I understand why you don’t allow personal API use, but it really is a feature worth having. Anyway, this thing is amazing, not perfect of course, but I hope it gets even better in the future

publicado há 20 diasExpects-everything-to-be-free garbage 1-star review.
Could you tell me how it would be possible for me to provide this service without users paying for it, since you're so smart? Just calling OpenAI's GPT5 to translate the text in your images costs lost of money ... so what the hell do you mean "pay-per-view garbage"?- Avaliado em 5 de 5por AzraelusGuy, há um mêsAlright so I'm using this app for 2 weeks and must say that I'm impressed how intuitive it is ... but also a lot of useful tools makes it worth every cent!
Of course it won't work in 100% everytime-everywhere but this is a nitpick...
AND for those who think this should be free - it's a pipe dream... c'mon it got really user-friendly way of payment - no shady subscription but buying points that You can use as You see fit :)Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 20 diasThanks a bunch! But I'm sure I'm going to keep getting stupid reviews from people who want everything to be free even when it's physically impossible. - Avaliado em 1 de 5por Usuário 19312505 do Firefox, há um mêsfirst asks for your data, then asks for your money.
No option to run local models or an api you're already paying for.
Scam.Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há um mêsSuch a stupid review. Having to login to an app is not "asking for your data". You login with hundreds of apps on a daily basis by just being on the internet, stop being so dramatic. Torii uses credits since I can't offer this service for free, since it uses lots of expensive processing to translate your images, such as text detection GPU models and calls to LLMs like GPT5 for translation. Of course I ask for your money ... like any normal service or business. You can't run local models or APIs because the translation portion of the cost to run the service is super cheap and setting up your own keys is stupid and pointless. The main cost is the GPU models which extract the text, not the translation. You think everything is done as a wrapper of GPT5, well it's not. That's why I can't link your api key.
Instead of writing this dumb review, you could have talked to me in discord or gmail and I would have explained things. - Avaliado em 5 de 5por DER_ULTRA_HASE, há um mêsActually works better than I thought. Works fast and automatic. I tried it with the sits NAVER korean to english and it worked great. It struggled however a bit with short impressions that however I think is because of the model I used
- Avaliado em 5 de 5por Employee427, há um mêsonly manga translator ive found that actually works correctly and isn't subscription based. translations on the lowest setting typically work, probably even better on the higher ones. developer provides good support if you have any issues.
- Avaliado em 5 de 5por MaitrePanda, há um mêsProbably one if not the best in browser translator for picture , yes it cost a bit if you want to read a lot of translated picture but the price is really small and its really easy to use , from when i write this review they are the only translator in picture and able to dl the modified picture , simply the best
- Avaliado em 5 de 5por Uso, há 2 mesesBy far, this is the best manga translator I’ve used, it surpasses all the others I’ve tried so far though it has its own flaws but is normal for all manga translators to have.

- Avaliado em 5 de 5por SysGabriel, há 2 mesesThis works! I'm having a good time reading manga online without having to wait for scans to translate them. I wish the best for this team and it's extension. Great work guys.

- Avaliado em 5 de 5por Mike, há 2 mesesUnbelievably convenient translation addon, all of you guys should try it.
- Avaliado em 3 de 5por Degen, há 2 mesesThe addon itself is excellent but lacks the ability to use local models or even our own API keys. I personally use a deepseek api provider so having to pay even more to use it here despite that is not a great feeling. Other than that, the inpainting and everything else is great, it really looks like its manually translated sometimes.

publicado há um mêsThanks for the review! Unfortunately, Torii will probably never provide the ability to use your own api keys. The main costs associated with translating images is actually the text detection and extraction since they use complicated GPU models to do so. The actual translation part is what is done with LLMs like Deepseek and it is so cheap that the cost is basically 0 compared to the other costs. So your own api key is useless as it won't change anything ... - Avaliado em 5 de 5por IceNex7271, há 2 mesesHey another review guy here! but Seriously, before Torii Image Translator, getting through untranslated manga was such a chore. I used to do it all by hand with Tesseract OCR or other OCR services, and then I’d copy and paste it (obviusly also need to spend a bit of time correcting the formats of text order etc) into DeepL or google translate it took forever to clean it all up and get the formatting right. Each chapter was like, two or three hours of work, maybe more. Its really a total time sink. Now, though? I just drop the image files in and it does all the work for me. The translations are pretty cool too ,and it only takes a minute! It’s a total game changer. I really like how easy it is to use, and the translation quality is pretty nice too (honestly its very servicable and i didn't even use the top models since they use more credits deepseek is goat here for price/performance). I already picked up the 2000 (edit because i misremembered its not 2000 its 2500 credits instead!) credits for like 6 bucks, and it’s honestly good for its price. If you like untranslated comics or manhwa, or really anything with text in an image, you can use this!

publicado há um mêsThank you for the lovely review! Sorry for not seeing it sooner. Please let me know if there's any way in which I can improve Torii even further! Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 2 mesesIt can't be free and your 1-star rating makes no sense. You're saying the product is good but rating it poorly because you can't afford it ... Imagine you said the same thing about a iPhone, "wow this phone is so good but wait, actually it sucks because it costs money ..."
you people are so weird, it baffles me. Just think for a single moment, how can it be possible for this extension to be free? I need to pay for server costs, for GPT4 translation costs, for GPU costs, for storage costs, for text detection costs and for my own time and energy spent working on this damn thing. What part of that allows for the extension to be free? Who will pay for all of the expenses? This extension will not exists and I will be broke. God I wish you random people were more reasonable because I hate seeing such reviews.- Avaliado em 1 de 5por Usuário 19136463 do Firefox, há 2 mesesCompletely ignored the main text of the image. Completely useless.

publicado há 2 mesesSometimes mistakes happen either in the text detection phase or in the translation phase, but Torii should handle 95% of images very well. Instead of writing a "completely useless" review such as yours, you could have contacted me either via email or discord and I would have carefully addressed your issue and maybe even fix the bug. Might have even given you some free credits as compensation. Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 2 mesesYeah, this service cannot be free. It's not possible and it has to be sustained by the users. Translation and text detection and servers cost me money to run, so after a free trial you have to pay if you like it and want to keep using it.- Avaliado em 1 de 5por Usuário 17672697 do Firefox, há 3 mesesNot free user friendly in the *slightest*, first impressions were abysmal and not worth cash either.
Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 3 mesesIt's not free yes, but your review is abysmal as well. You could have given the slightest bit of constructive criticism. What went wrong? Why didn't you like the extension? How can the experience be improved? Are you just mad it's not free? If that's the case, then some things simply can't be free - I have expenses to take care of. I rate your review 1 star. - Avaliado em 5 de 5por Furkan, há 4 mesesI'm writing this review after postponing it for a few months. I like the translations it offers. It's cheaper than others and provides usage proportional to what you pay. I bought a few golf balls and am using them. Even though free usage is limited, the prices are cheaper compared to a few others I've used, and it offers a wide range of languages. My only concern is privacy. Even if the developer says they don't store data, we can't be sure and have to trust them.
Wake up wake up wake up! - Avaliado em 5 de 5por PlanB, há 4 mesesIt works super well. I used to use Ichigo on Chrome before moving over to Firefox, but this one beats it in every single regard. Even the pricing is beyond reasonable.

Please join the discord server if you'd like to chat - maybe you have a cool suggestion or feature request you'd like to see implemented in Torii, and I can hear you out :) - Avaliado em 5 de 5por Usuário 18977037 do Firefox, há 4 mesesPretty much the best one straight Outta the box.
Would've been even cooler if I could also use my own api keys nglResposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 4 mesesThank you kind user!
Torii currently doesn't support custom api keys. But I'll think about it :) - Avaliado em 4 de 5por John Kirk, há 4 mesesWorks wonderfully. However it's too expensive, and without localized pricing it becomes harder for non-Americans. The inpainting/rendering must be the most computationally intensive part. Why not just create text overlays using HTML & CSS tools instead? Just instead text boxes at the coordinates of the text and set its backdrop-filter to blur. At least consider that for a cheaper tier.
Resposta do desenvolvedor
publicado há 4 mesesThanks for the 4 stars! Localized pricing is impossible for the simple reason that my own expenses are not localized. Everything is in dollars, such as GPT4 or Gemini, or server prices, or storage, or hosting. If I were to localize I would be losing a ton of revenue and Torii would die, since that's not sustainable. As for your other point, the inpainting and rendering are by far not the most intensive or costly parts. The character detection via OCR AI models is the most costly, followed by translation via the services of GPT4 or Gemini. Therefor it cannot possibly be made any cheaper than it already is, until I find just as good but cheap replacement models for those services. That should happen in the not too distant future, as AI improves globally, but as of right now, the current pricing is as low as it can go.
Thanks anyway, for the review, I really appreciate it. Especially since I've usually received 1-star reviews of this kind, such as "This sucks, it's not free, 1 star" lol
