Sadly it's now malware that tracks or online behavior and wants authentification data. Thought it was a great add-on once - but it became a part of the problem now. RIP

With the new update requiring additional consent I looked into what these actually do. Needless to say the developers kind of understate what these consent permissions actually cover. Unfortunately this seems to be a common trend due to Mozilla themselves failing to provide decent documentation.

For what it's worth, it seems that no new harmful code has been added. While there is some odd code that listens to any and all cookie changes, it only acts on Keepa cookies. The rest is just adding an element to the Amazon site that grabs the graph stuff from the Keepa domain. Same as before, but without the consent warning.

The 1* rating is intentional so this can easily be found by people being suspicious of the change.

To protect your security, keepa.com will not allow firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window.

The addon started requiring more permissions than necessary, it was slightly acceptable.. but now is requiring AUTHENTICATION INFORMATION! This is HIGHLY alarming. I highly suggest to refrain from using this malware.

This is an excellent add on.
I'm all for data privacy use and disclosure but people need to read descriptions before getting their panties in a knot.

I've been concerned recently with this extension failing, but good to see the dev being transparent about why. I could not even tell anyone how long I've had Keepa installed - it's been a long time. Fantastic extension.

why you keep asking for new permission to view activity and auth info. why it was working just fine before?

"Nothing about how Keepa handles data changed in this update. Mozilla now requires every add-on to declare data categories from a fixed list, and Firefox displays them on update.

What Keepa does: on an Amazon product page it sends that product's ASIN to keepa.com to draw the price chart. It is not logged and not retained. Nothing is stored unless you choose to track a product. This unfortunately triggers the "collecting browsing history" permission.

The "personally identifying information" line refers to your Keepa session token - a login credential for your own account, not your name or email. We think that's the wrong label and have asked Mozilla to change it to "authentication information".

The extension runs only on Amazon product pages."

Do not blame Keepa for things required by Mozilla.
This kind of "issue" also happens On Google Play.
