Installed this as a replacement for Honey's price tracking, and now they want permission to collect my data as well. No thank you, I'll use the old version until it stops working.

It just asked for mandatory permission to track my activity, my personal info, and more.
Unacceptable and uninstalled.

While the extremely worrying "new" permissions may just be an artifact of Mozilla new categorizing for disclosure, the module still seems to go behind the user's back using his browser to execute unrelated requests for it.

Whether this is abnormal in relation to Mozilla or Amazon guidelines, and GDPR, and the requirements for the developers, I cannot properly evaluate, but I'm still concerned about.

I would encourage the developers and users to eg read Wladimir Palant's blog post titled "Data exfiltration in Keepa Price Tracker".

What's happening: The new "data collection" categories you're seeing aren't Keepa suddenly requesting more access — they're part of a new disclosure format Mozilla now requires from all Firefox extensions (rolled out since late 2025). Developers must now explicitly declare data categories that, in many cases, the extension was already handling — this is just making it visible.

Why these categories match Keepa's actual function:

* Browsing activity — Keepa needs to detect when you're on an Amazon product page to show price history.
* Website content — it reads the page (product name, ASIN) to build its price charts.
* Personal data — likely covers optional contact info (e.g., email) if you set up price alerts.
* Technical/interaction data — marked as optional, probably standard analytics (errors, browser version). You can decline this without losing functionality.

Tracking begins! Why are add-ons that were originally good being deliberately ruined like this?

After 2 years of absence, the clown developers suddenly ask for invasive & personal tracking permissions with a sudden "bug fixes, code optimizations" update.

Out of nowhere they want to track your complete browser activity which has nothing to do with their function. Removing it.

It was a great extension until it suddenly said it needed access to my browsing activity, personally identifying information, and website content, which it clearly doesn't need.

There is zero reason to collect personally identifying information.

Uninstalled due to privacy concerns and I suggest anyone reading this review does the same.

Uninstalling until the recent changes requiring lots of personal data collection is rolled back. There is no need for this info and hasn't been needed for years. Enshitification

Weird how it totally worked just fine before needing this. Delete it and look for an alternative people this thing is dead and shady as fuck now

Greed got these guys like it did everyone else. There would be far more users if you made it affordable for everyone. But you decide to track more user information and cut way down the free version. No thanks. Look elsewhere, there are some really good competitors. And to think I have to now warn all the people I told to install it.

Love what this does but they keep adding more and more ways to take your data for no reason other than sell it. No thanks.
