Great extension, but it’s missing a few useful features:

1. An option to create a note from selected text via the context menu.

2. A plain text mode.

3. The ability to set the global notes view as the default.

4. Sometimes when I paste text from a webpage and then delete everything in the note, it doesn't get removed and stays in the list as an empty note. This might be caused by invisible characters copied from webpages.

Overall, very useful extension, but these additions would make it much better.

Just discovered this today. Just what I've been looking for after the end of omnivore app site about a year ago.
However, it's missing a crucial feature: ability to add tags to your notes & ability to search via tags. Examples of tags: #science, #people, #coding. etc.
Please add something like that.

Notefox doesn't work on all websites (especially it even is impossible to create a "Sticky note" - the colored PopUp - on addons.mozilla.org, but it also doesn't work on mastodon.social)...

1) Title is visible and editable - right.
2) Posting makes FF ask for a further permission,... but that's kinda unnecessary, since this 'posting' should occur anyway, so why isn't the permission added to all the others asked for while installing the AddOn...?

Excellent extension! It would be perfect if it allowed notes to be saved locally.

Pro:
• FOSS
• Useful declared functionality.

Cons:
• The extension settings are reset periodically (the default settings do not suit me).
• The account is periodically logged out (used to synchronize settings between extension instances on different computers or to restore them after reinstalling the browser).

2025-08: At some point, Mozilla Firefox stopped launching in normal mode, but only in Troubleshoot Mode. While in Troubleshoot Mode, I disabled all extensions, then started enabling them one by one, restarting the browser afterwards. When I got to the Notefox extension, in which I had quite a lot of notes by that time (a hundred or more), enabling it almost immediately leads to an irreversible hang of the browser. I am forced to kill the browser process, launch it again, enable the extension - and again get an unresponsive browser window.
I had to stop using the extension.

In my Ubuntu + iBus + Firefox, Korean input is broken and only English can be typed, but this add-on is really practical. I recommend it!

I was able to fulfil my requirements - automatically open a previously written note

It has some keyboard focus issues sometimes (cursor keeps going to the start of the editor while you type), but the ability to associate the note with e.g. certain subdirectory trees of a site makes it perfect to keep notes between all pages in certain part of the site.

Nice one. However when taking notes on websites that play video/audio material addon's window shuts down or a cursor of the fixed window resets to the initial position, which makes taking notes on youtube videos unconvenient.

I would like to be able to do two things:

1) format text of my notes (bold & italics would be enough), and

2) create colored highlights on the page itself (but I know that's complicated).

very nice. add a sync/cloud storage feature (like the ublock origin) and import export zip.. would light all the stars.
