Pretty outdated by 2026 (eg, Shorts still visible despite trying to hide them, Join buttons hide Improve YouTube options, generally pretty bloated with redundant optionality better covered by other apps or by YT updates enabling such options, etc.)

I just want a button to reverse a playlist. It's great when it works, but most of the time it just does not show up even though it's absolutely checked in the settings (other stuff works fine, I can change the themes easily, but the entire playlist section just does nothing)

I want to like this extension so badly. It seems so promising. It's free and made by volunteers and open source.

But I've been trying it off and on for months now, and during that time I've tried it on 4 different browsers and 3 different operating systems (two desktop, one mobile), and it's always broken in multiple ways, and it always absolutely murders Firefox's performance.

Yes, I tried disabling other youtube and adblock extensions. And I tried running Improve Youtube alone and in private mode, with no other extensions. No dice.

And no, my computer is not a potato (nor is my phone). And this is the only addon that's been causing me problems like this.

This extension is just extremely broken, all the time, always. It feels like a super early alpha release, not a finished addon.

You can report issues on github, but even *if* that leads to the issue getting fixed in a halfway timely manner, there are always additional issues occuring at the same time.

There's no predicting which options in the settings menu will work, or which will break even more things, and seemingly aaaaaaall of them tank the browser's performance.

I genuinely don't understand how this addon is getting good reviews. I can imagine it might become an incredible addon eventually, if the tsunami of problems is ever overcome, and I really hope it does, but for right now... Don't waste your time, like I did. There are alternatives to this addon that actually work, and reliably so.

I'd only recommend installing this addon if you're wanting to get involved in developing it, by way of a hobby project.

Could you add the following features:
1) **an option to save the various options selected.** So that we can easily import these chosen saved options back again whenever we want.

2) **Add a stop button** to stop the video at its very start. Sometimes it is useful to check again what was the original starting image of the video. Or when you want to repeat from the very start.

3) In the theater mode, there is an extremely annoying "More videos" option that appears and it is impossible to see below this "More videos" option the comments.
I could very well be a BUG.
Add **an option to get rid completely of this "More videos" option in this theater mode and replace it by allowing instead to be able to see the comments normally** instead of this very annoying "More videos" set of video links.
---Remark: Strangely, this problem seems specific to Firefox because it does not appear when using Microsoft Edge with this same addon improve youtube.

4) Below the description, there is now (sometimes but not always) a summary section that is created automatically. **Allow us to chose, for this summary section, the option expanded** like it is available also for the Description.

---One issue:
**Under the section Player, Pause while I watch a 2nd video.** It does not work if you watch a 2nd video that is a short video; in such a case, the first video will NOT pause while the second short video will keep running and the sound of the first video will interfere with the sound of the second short video!
It does not work even for any video that you watch first! Very annoying.
This is a serious BUG.

Themes and some settings are ok. I just do not like that whenever I switch from a tab to youtube and vice versa, there is a short amount of time where the page reloads. I have no idea why it keeps doing this. It also has issues wherein despite not enabling the "Force videos to start from the beginning", it still forces videos to start from the beginning. It's annoying and worth the uninstall. Hopefully they fix such issues by then

Had to disable it 5 minutes after installing because it ramped up CPU usage by 30%-40%. Why is this? I haven't even toggled anything ON yet.

It makes YouTube look better also triggers its adblock detector :(

Sadly this stopped working like a week ago and keeps freezing my video / tab / Firefox when using it.
I noticed it when the remaining time feature didn't work anymore then I tried turning it off / on. Kept freezing on me since then.

While it somewhat works, this extension is very unresponsive and Youtube starts freezing or acting unpredictably.

The main reason I wanted this extension was to make Youtube stop spamming already watched videos, random playlists and useless shorts.
1) It doesn't block already watched videos, it just makes them less visible by hiding the thumbnail and dimming their links;
2) Sometimes it marks random videos as watched, but I never even clicked their links, even less watched them;
3) It cannot block playlists, as far as I used it;
4) It blocks shorts successfully AND entirely (not just dim their links).

A fairly decent extension for YT except that it is losing some of the most desirable functions for some reason. The skip ad feature doesn't work at all no matter what option you choose.

I wouldn't mind the ads so much and let many of them play except for the fact that most of them are so ridiculous, it's like a video example of the kind of ads you find in the National Enquirer. They're utterly unbelievable (or should be), but for whatever reason it appears the same kind of marketing and advertising laws and regulations just don't seem to apply on the internet. You can claim just about anything or misrepresent, twist and bend truth with fact to confuse people into believing things with abandon. Its the same kind of tactics the consrevativce media has been using increasingly since the 1980s. It's been going on for two generations now and trying to point this out, prove fallacy with fact is impossible. And for this, I don't think I nor anyone else should be required to watch this nonsense, I don't care if it's how these videos are monetized or not. Lying and manipulation for the sake of selling product is not an excusable reason. Sorry, I'm one of the few that still believes in ethics in this society. And really, as far as YT is concerned, it wouldn't exist at all if people didn't upload videos to begin with, so I'm not one to fall on my knees in tears over the plight of YT not making enough money to keep its investors happy. They could all go f**k themselves.

As for the functions of this extension that seemed to have ceased to work, the mixer section does not register any open tabs and thus does not work. And, should you reload your page you will have to hit the extension pinned to your toolbar to get it to begin functioning at all with those options that still work. Sad really. Because for what it is supposed to do, it offers much in a very compact and easy to use design.

Ad block isn't working

"Shorts" hiding on homepage isn't working

For an award-winning Firefox-supported extension I find documentation on the provided functionality sorely lacking. I installed this mainly for the blocking feature, hoping to replace the retarded native youtube algorithm. After a frustrating hour or two, unable to figure out how the blocklist is supposed to work, checking the extension documentation, their home (github) page, and even returning to this installation page, I'm giving up.

Pros: Minimalist layout, probably does something there's a bunch of settings
Cons: Doesn't fix the garbage new layout which is the only thing I wanted it to do

Has many good assets to youtube however my main problem seems to be the screenshot tab as any edit to the main youtube page takes a screenshot of whatever video I'm watching and I won't even realize until I have fifteen screenshots of the same image on my PC

The thumbnails for blocked channels still show up on the home screen. Most of the thumbnail is blocked out except for the top portion.

This addon had some nice features, but probably from a combination of youtube changing too much and the addon getting no updates, there are some wonky functionalities that I don't have the patience to deal with. Too bad, it was a good one for a while

Not been updated nearly in a year. Many features not working.

It doesn't do what I want, while doing a lot of things I don't want that can't be turned off.
