Recently replaced another secrets manager with Bitwarden and have been mostly pleased with the transition. Something changed recently though and the browser plugins for Firefox variants seem broken / unable to connect to the binary install for macOS. First it seemed like just biometrics but browser passwords are just completely broken now. It's something that can be worked around but also shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Changing the API to break logging in is unnecessary and short-sighted. I should know, I have prescription lenses.

Absolute must have. Bitwarden, in this day and age of subscription are giving this cross platform gold for free is mind blowing to me. It even supports passkeys on free account!

I never write reviews for extensions, but a change in the extension has made my workflow impossible. I used to always click the item name to see the contents, but now it automatically autofills, which is something I do not want. I had to downgrade back to a 2025 version of the extension to make it usable for me again.

Slowing down various websites when active.

L'add-on anche avendo l'impostazione correttamente inserita non permette l'accesso con pin. ogni volta bisogna inserire la password per intero. Non è possibile per un app del genere. Correggete per favore.

Why can't I install it on one Android phone ? The button is grey out.

This add-on of Bitwarden is marvelous and especially the sidebar feature on FireFox work well.

Many crashes while using this extension in firefox, also not completely optimised.

Switched to Bitwarden and haven't regretted it for a second. The extension works like a charm in Firefox: autofill is instant, and the interface is clean and user-friendly. A huge plus for being open-source — it really builds trust in terms of security. Highly recommended!

Been using BW for couple years now, best decision ever to switch from built-in browser password manager to a dedicated one.

I currently have BW v.2026.5.1 in Firefox, and I don’t see any slowness. Even with v.2026.5.0 and v.2026.4.0, I didn’t have any problems with sites/logins. The only noticeable bug was on the saving of autofill settings, which was fixed in v.2026.5.0.
Disclaimer: I’m a developer, and I use very powerful PCs.

If other people are still complaining, it may be one (or more!) of the following things:
- They have a slow or very low-end PC
- They have a compromised PC
- They use some particular, specific sites, e.g., Reddit (?) (I don’t use it, so I can’t tell), which may still be problematic with BW

Bitwarden extension has been a total nightmare in Firefox for a while now with no fix in sight.
Freezing webpages, crashing tabs etc.

The extension does not connect with the desktop app and im unable to use biometrics. Unnacceptable

Issue with Firefox has not been fixed for a week.
