Regarding permissions and privacy: Firefox's extension policies require all permissions to be declared upfront, even when their use is limited. We want to assure you that Lean Library does not store or share any personal information. The only data involved is a random, anonymous identifier used solely to verify library access, which has no connection to your identity or browsing activity.

On the question of control, we wanted to flag that Lean Library already supports on-demand use. The extension can be paused or disabled and re-enabled only when needed, which we hope goes some way toward addressing both the performance and privacy concerns you have raised.
