The devs say they're not using the API, but this no longer seems to work since the API was nuked on Dec. 13th. It's a shame, because this was the only one that provided the ability to customize the bar to something more useful than grey-on-grey, like red-and-green. 😒

Even the few extensions that still work won't for long, Google will ruin those soon enough.

Hi there, we are not using Youtube API and be rest assured that this will keep working even after 13th.
