Like other I am switching over from Quicksaver's Tab Groups, so there will be plenty of comparisons to it.

The Good...
Pretty much everything UI related is better compared to Tab Groups. I like being able to set an image or colour to group. The menus and such also seem much more responsive.

The Ok...
I like that there are keyboard shortcuts but I would really like to be able to change the keybinding back to "ctrl + `" and "ctrl + shift + `"

The Bad...
Migrating from Quicksaver's Tab Groups to Simple Tab Groups was a bit rough. First I made sure to "back up" my tab groups by bookmarking them in folder named after their group. Then I installed Simple Tab Groups and disabled Tab Groups. After restarting only a few of my tabs showed up in a group even though the group had a tab count 563. So I restarted Firefox again. This time all my tabs showed up but I now had two groups with each with a copy of all my tabs. Repeating opening and closing Firefox continued the duplication of the group even after I started moving tabs into groups. To fix this I had to close all open tabs and restart. After that everything started working fine.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that this addon doesn't really like the about:* pages. Opening, for example about:config, does not bind it to a specific group instead it acts more like a pinned tab. In addition about:newtab does not load correctly when coming back to it (search bar, top sites, etc. don't show up)

The Ugly...
I know nothing can be done about it at this time but I still have to complain about it. I hate how this addon switches between groups. Essentially all the "current" tabs are closed and then new tabs are opened with the URLs from the other group.

TLDR
Good addon, but has some areas that need improvement

Disclaimer:
I only run nightly builds of Firefox, so there is a chance the issues I saw were caused by some change/defect in Firefox.

I installed this add-on to replace the Quicksaver add-on so I have to compare this with the Quicksaver add-on.
What I liked is the coloring and the UIs.
But I have some serious issues with this add-on:
The way how it works: Every tab is saved as an URL like "moz-extension://...url=...". When you switch tabs, the tabs of the current group are closed and tabs of the new group are opened. If you click on the tab it takes an additional time to load the tab.
This process costs a lot of time if you have many tabs.
It took me about 10-20 minutes to switch a tab group - to be fair, that one specific tab group had about 2500 tabs which is a lot.
The second big issue is that you lose all your tabs if you uninstall the add-on:
Actually I still have my tabs, but they are stored with the URL "moz-extension://...." and therefore my opened tabs are practically unsuable, but also the history is. Now I have to write my own plugin to remove that prefix from the URL and hopefully I can work again.

Normally I would rate it one star because it was practically unusable for me but to be fair having 2500 open tabs I am not a normal user and I guess there are technical limitations that prevent the tabs to be "hidden" and you have to do it that way with the URL prefixes.

По настоящему нужная в работе вещь. После добавления сортировки имен групп по алфавиту стала не только полезной, но и удобной. Сохранение и восстановление конфигурации делает возможным простую синхронизацию на различных компьютерах. Загружаются только закладки из активной группы.
Очень рекомендую всем, у кого в FF сохраняется более 15 окон.

P.S. Обращаю внимание Автора, что автоматического обновления на версию 2.х не произошло.

Solid replacement for the old Tab Groups addon & Panorama before that. Very active development.

It isn't really super bad. If you ignore the fact that it adds random groups, duplicates tabs into other groups, deletes tab groups, has basically no instructions, forgets/deletes all tab groups and all that. As I said, if you ignore all that, it's alright.

EDIT: It has since been fixed, quite quickly to.

yeah i’ve been waitin for that addon. its not perfekt now but on the right way and i think it’s not fair whne some users are crying about some missing features or some little bugs, cause everyone has the possibilitys to write that extension but only Drive4ik did it. so thank you for doin that great thing, cause now firefox is useable again…

Updated to new version yesterday and moved a group up using drag and drop. Today when I go into a group I get an error message saying it is NULL. Then this error extends to all the following groups. I have lost half my groups. Every time I load a group it opens an additional New Tab to the group. Not happy!!!

Great option for those missing Tab Groups. There is one important feature missing: The option to lazy load tabs. I'm using Tab Session Manager and use the lazy load option but when selecting a group, all tabs in that group start to load. Am I missing something?

The former Tab Groups extension was the reason why I didn't move on to Firefox 57. Simple Tab Groups addon is brilliant and works just as good as the former one. Thank you so much, and keep up the great work!

great alternative to tab groups, very useful

I couldn't move to FF57 until we had a replacement for Tab Groups. Thanks so much for your efforts on this. I was able to import my tabs from the old plugin, a little rearranging, and I was back in business. The reloading all tabs thing is unfortunate but with the extra speed of the new Firefox, it mostly makes up for it.

It reloads all the pages as soon as we switch tabs and freezes all the website in any group which is inactive there by not allowing any process to work.

Love it; my only gripe is that when I switch tab groups, it loads ALL my tabs in that group (which in my case is a couple hundred tabs, so it takes forever and/or crashes a bunch of them). I can't find a way to load tabs only when I switch to them.

Thank you so much for your work and efforts to provide a replacement under FF 57 for the Tab Groups Helper Add-on! Firefox is useless to me without a functioning Tab Groups extension, and this at least got me back up and running.

Having said that, I am hoping you can find time (in between all of your development work!! :) ) to respond to a few questions:

1) Is there a way to bookmark *all* tabs in *all* groups, or any plans to add that functionality? This is utterly essential to me (and I would assume to many others). This was available in Tab Groups Helper under the "More" option on the Groups Bar menu. So far I can only bookmark all tabs within a single group. (Note: I typically have many groups open, so bookmarking them all individually, while possible, is not a great solution.)

2) Any plans to add a Groups Bar similar to the one in Tab Groups Helper? That makes group management so much easier.

3) Would it be possible to add Drag-and-Drop functionality to re-order groups?

4) Would it be possible to default to renaming the new group at the time of creation? (again similar to Tab Groups Helper)

5) Are you aware of a Tab Count add-on that works with Simple Tab Groups? So far I haven't been able to find anything that shows the total number of tabs open, only by group. (Maybe this is a FF 57 issue / limitation...? Most of the tab count add-ons worked with Tab Groups Helper.)

Not a big fan of this. I live and die by my tab groups, so when Firefox did away with them, I needed a replacement, so I downloaded this. After using it for about a week, I dont like it and am looking for a replacement. Why? There are numerous problems with it. Where do I start?
It forgets what pages you had loaded in some tabs
It duplicates not just tabs, but entire groups of tabs
If in tab manager, you delete one tab, it takes you to the top of that group of tabs immediately

But the biggest problem I have with it is this: every time you open the browser or switch between tab groups, it insists on loading every single tab in that groups. Did I mention when I first opened my browser with this installed it put all my tabs from all groups into one group? Yeah, it does that. So I had about 160 tabs and it insisted on loading every one of those pages all at the same time. I've been working to cut back and separate tabs into groups, but I still have maybe 75 tabs in the largest group, and I don't see any improvement in performance. I recommend downloading it because Firefox has screwed us over and this is the only game in town as far as a solution. But before you install it, I recommend minimizing the number of tabs as much as possible.
