- Betygsatt 4 av 5av KB, för 5 år sedanI've used YesScript2 for a couple of years to get me past paywalls, which usually works well I can get into most sites. But since I updated Firefox to Version 80 yesterday I can't get into my hotmail, it locks up for a minute or so and then puts up an error screen. All other sites work fine. I don't have the problem if YesScript2 is disabled, only when it's active. Using this forum to bring the developer's attention to the problem so maybe they can fix it.
- Betygsatt 4 av 5av Joe JoKeRz, för 6 år sedanThis add-on was fantastic, I say was because it seems to have stopped working. Anytime I blacklist a page it doesn't stick, when the page refreshes the icon is grey again (instead of red) and scripts will work/load for the page.
- Betygsatt 4 av 5av Ahmad Gharbeia, för 6 år sedanIt would be great if this extension placed its toggle-button in the URL bar. This gives the indication that its effect is URL-specific.
Another extension that does this is : https://github.com/meetDeveloper/Quick-JS-Switcher
YesScript2 supersedes the fore-mentioned extension by providing the three-state control. - Betygsatt 4 av 5av Firefox-användare 15170812, för 6 år sedanI like it! The leading NoScript has become to heavy.

- Betygsatt 4 av 5av Raccoon Army, för 7 år sedanI began using this after the original YesScript was no longer supported with the updated version of Firefox. I have but one complaint with YesScrpt2 which is I really miss a little feature YesScript had, which was the ability to block scripts prior to opening a website, and then immediately unblocking them so that link subsequently clicked on aren't blocked without reloading the page.
This would allow me to enjoy a webpage with a lot of content on it and not get blasted with scripted nonsense and have to deal with the page reloading on me every 30 seconds; however, I when I clicked on a link on the website I was able to load that one link with full scripts.
This little process/feature was super-nice for websites with a bloated front page designed for long term browsing, such as news sites, for example, but they also load it with a bunch of garbage and have the page annoyingly set to reload on you every 30 secs.
When I tried this little trick with YesScript2, it now reloads the page every time I stop blocking scripts rather than just leaving the current page loaded and blocked and then unblocking subsequent clicked-links.
Thanks! - Betygsatt 4 av 5av Firefox-användare 12714914, för 7 år sedanNice, yesscript is a good quick way to stop those annoying popups and hijacks, but of course it breaks the page sometimes. YS2 is great for the ability to stop 3rd party scripts but keeping the sites ones going. And just like YS it saves the settings PER site, which is a must.
Could you add options to have "half blocking (allowing internal and blocking external scripts)" enabled by default for all pages? - Betygsatt 4 av 5av Prisha, för 7 år sedan
- Betygsatt 4 av 5av PatheticCockroach, för 7 år sedanNice replacement to YesScript after the WebExtension Armageddon.
That being said, I'm not sure what to think of that "half blocking" state. It seems smart at first, but I already use other extensions to block toxic external scripts (uBlock & Ghostery), so I'm not sure I'll ever really need it. In all the time I've used YesScript, I've never felt the need for a partial block. Meanwhile, the interesting state (block all) is now 2 clicks away instead of one (not to mention the auto-reload). It would be better to have half blocking in last position IMHO
Edit (since unfortunately it's impossible to reply to replies): I don't think many users of this add-on don't also have stuff like uBlock. That would be an interesting stat to have though.Utvecklarens svar
postad för 7 år sedanEdit: I've just released a new version (4.3) in which I changed the order of blocking because it will suit better this way in practice. So you are a single click away from full blocking now. - Betygsatt 4 av 5av Firefox-användare 13420543, för 7 år sedan
- Betygsatt 4 av 5av Firefox-användare 13420543, för 7 år sedanI've been dreading 57 since there was no replacement for YesScript...Now there is. Would be perfect if there was a screen that could view (or edit) a list of blacklisted sites. Hopefully in a newer version.

Couldn't figure out how to reply to your reply..so....
"..then you can easily do that by using Firefox's Sync feature. You just sign in and all of your bookmarks, settings and extension storage will be copied over to your other devices at once. It is convenient."
For some reason, this didn't work. The sync copied WebScrpt 2 extension, but my sites were not copied over.
-----------------ll want to view and edit the blacklist, you do that now as well by editing the following file with the editor of your choice:
[Your Mozilla folder] / firefox / * / browser-extension-data / yesscript2* / storage.js"
The file format that I use for the blacklist looks like this, so you can easily edit it however you like it:
{"urls":["domain1.com","domain2.com","somethingelse.com"]} "
Thanks, I figured that out by "exploring". What would be nice is button in YesScript which would open this up (perhaps in Notepad) Maybe add the above line as a read-only help line. Again, thanks for the extension.Utvecklarens svar
postad för 7 år sedanHappy to hear you've found the replacement. Actually I believe you don't need an option to view and edit the list of the blacklisted sites because if your intention is to export it from one account and import it into another, then you can easily do that by using Firefox's Sync feature. You simply sign in and all of your bookmarks, settings and extension storage will be copied over to your other device at once. It is convenient.
However if you still want to view the blacklist, you can do that now as well by opening the following file in a text editor (editing this file has no effect though):
[Your Mozilla folder] / firefox / * / browser-extension-data / yesscript2* / storage.js
Your Mozilla folder can typically be found on a Windows system in C:\ users \ yourname \ AppData \ Roaming \ Mozilla. On Linux systems you can find it in / home / yourname / .mozilla. For further information on this, see more here:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox#Navigating_to_the_profile_folder
The file format that I use for the blacklist looks like this:
{"urls": ["domain1.com", "domain2.com", "somethingelse.com"]}

Reply #2 : May I ask why you want to edit the blacklist? I could add an option but it would increase the code base that I wouldn't want if avoidable. More lines of code is harder to be maintained and more work to be inspected for future changes. Write me to my email if you need more help and clarification: mail@log69.com
And Sync should really work. Are you using the latest stable version of FF?
Edit: with version 4.0 I'v made several fixes and improvements to the Sync feature, so now it would work properly. - Betygsatt 4 av 5av bedwttr, för 7 år sedan
- Betygsatt 4 av 5av Firefox-användare 12460883, för 8 år sedan1.it is hard to understand from the icon if the script block or allow on the site (in the original yesscript it was more clear).
2. it will be nice if there was an option to see a list of all the block sites, and a option to import and export this list.
there is 1 new thing that i particularly like, and its the auto refresh after blocking. this is something that was lack in the original yesscript.Utvecklarens svar
postad för 8 år sedan1) I've changed the color of the on state icon from white to dark red to represent its state better. Uploaded the new version, should update soon.
2) I have no time resource currently for a preferences panel.
2.b) Edit.: I've made some recent improvements and in version 1.4 you can use the Sync feature of Firefox so you won't need to do tiresome exports and imports of data but instead you can sync the settings to all your devices.
