No Firefox Add-on can control about:config settings. Mozilla does not allow it, but you can change the setting yourself manually. Have to have the cursor on a tab for it to work, just having the cursor in the tabbar, but not on a tab doesn't get it done. I'll just have to get used to that limitation.
