update:
got it to work by updating my vlc to the current release recommended by the dev...thanks dev! this is now my go to downloader!!
2nd update: worked great for a couple of weeks now when i click a resolution to dl the image below will start to appear for a sec then disappear...its not working, i no longer get the image "download in progress or converting"...just blank...maybe devs can fix it. its a shame, this is the only one working right now due to changes by youtube...even jdownloader is not working with youtube anymore.Geliştiricinin yanıtı

It looks like the issue you experienced may be due to how the format was selected. Just a heads-up: when downloading a video, please select only the correct MP4 format for the resolution you want. For example, if you want to download a video in 360p, choose “MP4 360p” only. Do not select both audio and video formats separately, as this can result in audio-only files or playback issues.
Currently, we support:
MP4 for video resolutions up to 2K (1440p)
WEBM for 4K and higher resolutions
We also use modern video codecs like AV1 and M4A to deliver better quality and smaller file sizes. However, these may not be supported on older devices or outdated video players — especially on older MacBooks.
We recommend using the latest version of VLC Media Player, which supports all the formats and codecs we use.

- Agreed with everyone else. Aside from the intrusive pop-up urging me to write this review after using this extension merely a handful of times, I have to admit that it works great. Very fast, and love the "bookmarking" feature that lets you keep lists of videos that you don't necessarily want to download.
