I followed the negative reviews WOT received by searching the Internet.
There are several reports that WOT sold identifiable user-data.
Gladly, there are alternatives.

This used to be a wonderful add on that you could trust it's ratings but now it has become part of the political machine and gives controversial sites a red circle rather then sticking to scamming fraudlent sites. DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

The WOT service has been collecting and selling personalized data about its users for some time now and therefore goes against everything MyWOT claims its mission is to combat.

Anybody who has any wish for any level of privacy on the worldwide web should avoid using WOT - Web of Trust on any system.

If they ever do clean up their act, the service is on its last legs. Users have fled in droves.

WOT ratings of websites have poor accuracy. I would not use it to keep my computer safe.
