I installed it, hoping it would make the addons.mozilla.org site dark so I can read without having to squint at the screen that is too bright, but it won't put the site into a dark mode. Can this be fixed somehow?

Good but can be very buggy sometimes.

Jest to najlepiej działający dodatek trybu ciemnego dla Firefoxa, praktycznie nie ma minusów (oprócz domyślnego otwierania strony zaraz po instalacji), ale gdy zainstalujesz go na słabszym urządzeniu to jeden ogromny MINUS zaraz wyjdzie na jaw: wydajność.

Dark reader spowalnia KAŻDĄ przeglądarkę o około 2x względem trybu jasnego.
Testowałem to wielokrotnie na wszystkim co znam: Firefox, Firefox Beta, Firefox Nightly, Waterfox, Iceraven, Fennec, Ironfox i jeszcze paru innych, które już nawet nie żyją jak Mull.
Do testu był użyty Speedometer z browserbench.org.

Ironfox, który przez zbytnie utwardzenie działa i tak najwolniej że wszystkich, z Dark Reader widocznie z spownialał nawet na szybszym urządzeniu.

Nie wymienię ot tak nagle wszystkich urządzeń, dlatego proszę dewelopera o popracowanie nad wydajnością.
Jeżeli nie będzie aż tak ZNACZĄCO spowalniał pracy przeglądarki - wtedy wesprę projekt. 10$ w Polsce jest jak 40 w Stanach.

Dark Reader, z którym ciężko mi się rozstać, ale musiałem szukać alternatywy, a najlepsza jaką znalazłem to UltimaDark - nie piszę tego, żeby reklamować bo przetestowałem jeszcze min. pięć innych dodatków trybu ciemnego. Piszę to dla użytkowników, którzy tak samo szukają poprawy wydajności.
Wybór jest wasz: Dark Reader i wolno VS UltimaDark i szybko.

I have ads breaking through my ad blocker on Yahoo mail when I have this extension enabled. That's not really acceptable. I guess I'll only use this when my eyes are really tired.

enabling this on amazon.com vs the white page default causes amazon to load default page images much slower

Very good extension. I use it for many years but since around 1 week it bug even when i put off the filter for the page or for all. I had to disable from firefox.

Fedora Linux with KDE Plasma 6 experience is quite bad. It's inconsistent in following the system theme, though this is likely due to Plasma on Fedora being such jank.

What happened? This app is essential to me because I have severe light and contrast sensitivity. I noticed some months ago that it wasn't working as it used to, but since the last update it's a huge drain on resources and literally breaks a large percent of the sites I visit now. I just restarted my computer because of a "ghost window" that was blank that I couldn't close. I was having network issues anyway, so I restarted. It was still there. Fixed it by disabling the extension. What's wrong, Dark Reader devs?

Version 4.9.99 and i'm still having issues with certain websites (twitch and kick in particular) causing insane lag on load, sometimes even killing the page entirely. it's not every time but it's gotten bad enough i felt the need to leave feedback at this point.

Firsty, page rendering is absolutely beautiful, probably most effective single ACCESIBILTY solution we have. Spares one the need load custom CSS for every page (if we can code or find it)... An option to specify font even... However (cough)

Recently the addon started overriding my Theme on the browser initializing. Disabling and Re-Enabling any theme fixes it until Firefox restarts.

In terms of aesthetics, the best dark mode add-on. But it slows down the browser very much, so use with caution.

Was pretty good up until recently where it started causing FF performance to tank.
