This is not a screen reader, but just a UI for sending text or documents to ChatGPT and get an audio file back. Since it can not access the current page DOM or accessibility tree, a lot of information, including language attributes, semantic markup (such as and ), which control how the text is to be spoken, gets lost in the process. And don't even dream of "aural" CSS-styles. All in all, rather disappointing :-/

Great little extension for when you want to read an article but also need to do housework or something.

Amazing and so easy to use. I can turn anything I write into an audiobook. So useful, as I can listen back to my notes of the day, from meetings or my own fiction. Works like a dream with Firefox. 10/10

found this from a reddit post. used it to read a portion of my essay assignment for uni, the flow, and pacing is natural and not forced, it is very pleasant to listen to.

Currently it only half playing a fragment of a txt file, does not allow for download and can't browse properly. TTS sounds lovely however

I don't want to open the text in ChatGPT, I just want to click on the text and select "read aloud" from the context menu and listen.

It's a useful tool when it works properly. I use it so that I don't have to read, which allows me to do other things at the same time.
Sadly, this tool tends to censor content. It also occasionally skips a few paragraphs. Sometimes it gets stuck in the text-loading loop.

Great add-on. I use it to listen (and download) too short stories that have no official audiobook.
I have the premium plan and find the pricing very fair and reasonable.

You have to bring a little time with you, when you have long texts or want to generate a bunch of audios in short intervals, cause of the restrictions Chat GPT enforces. But that is clearly stated in pop-ups in the add-on interface.

not sure why everyones rating this so low. it literally works so smoothly and if you use chatgpt a lot the voice is familiar obviously bc its the chatgpt voice. not much else to say. if i were to be really picky id wanna see a feature to have it play in the same tab without opening a new tab when you select it from the right click panel but hey it works its smooth and its free so i love it

I can't understand the purpose of the extension, but I'm sure that every time I use it, the entire chat is deleted either by OpenAI's security measures or by the extension.

Not sure why people keep giving this a low rating, the text to speech is completely free as stated. The downloads are supported up to 2500 characters so its not the worst, you can always upgrade if you need more.

Leider sind hier die Angaben in dem Beschreibenden Text nicht richtig. Wenn man Texte im vollen Umfang hören will muss man bezahlen. Ansonsten ist nur bis zu einer bestimmten Wortgrenze das abspielen möglich. War anfangs mal anderes jetzt wird einem ein Upgrate aufgezwungen um dieses zu nutzen...Schade
