Often it requires the companion application... which is not such a big deal, but even then it can still be distinctly unreliable.
I have a Video Downloader app on my android phone which does a far better job, is much more dependable, saves in sensible formats, offers a better choice of download resolution options, in a much easier to follow way.
The android app also does simultaneous multi-downloads of the same files so you can download a big file in five minutes on the phone what take this addon twenty minutes to do.
By comparision if that android app got a 10/10 rating - which by my book, it does, this barely gets a 3/10.
I regularly have to just give up in disgust at this add-on's inability to save files and switch over to my phone.
Also I've downloaded files using this addon to discover they are in a ridiculous webm format - absolutely not useful to me at all, whereas the android app saves using the much more standard MP4 container.
The app developer really needs to take a long hard look at the alternatives and up their game if they wish for this addon to stay relevant.

- Leaves a HUGE QR code on downloaded vids until user pays $30.50. Not only that, I'm not crazy about their required permissions - "Access browser activity during navigation" and "Access your data for all websites." Sounds like tracking to me for which I'd be paying $30.50 to allow.

Gives you many options regarding file quality and format. It especially shines in situations when it is not clear as to how and if at all it would be possible to access the video. Last but not least, speed of operations, you can download multiple items at the same time, and it still takes but a short moment. Amazing Plug in.

doing this deserves an uninstall, if developers were smart enough they would find alternative methods, but instead they are going to get review bombed and lose all the users. for the people that couldn't find a decent video downloader, maybe check out JDownloader2. 👍 - When I download SOOP VODs, the audio comes out distorted like a walkie-talkie.
It's also inconvenient to select the save location every time. Where can I change the default download directory?

- 评分 1 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 18686871， 3 天前I cannot vouch for this. It puts a gigantic watermark on your downloaded video unless you pay for a "lifetime" license, with no assurance that the extension will continue to work as different services change their API.
