This extension is a must have for learners as it doesn't interrupt your reading experience and saves a lot of time form having to look up the definition yourself. Its like that friend who you can ask whenever you forget a word or don't know something.

发布于 3 年前Thank you! That's very generous of you to give a 5 star review despite your concerns about the download size.
The download size is only about 14Mb but once that gets decompressed and stored in IndexedDB it swells to over 300Mb on disk. It seems like the IndexedDB indices are particularly large and at some point I hope to find a way to reduce them somewhat.
The up-side is that by storing the data in IndexedDB Rikaichamp uses much less memory when it is running and can be kept up-to-date by just downloading the changed records each week which is normally only a few kilobytes.

The kind of access signed away lets it vacuum up far too much data. It's free, and this defrays the cost, but the type of data is so totally unrelated to it's task.

Unfortunately, in order for Rikaichamp to be able to present pop-ups on the page it requires access to that page's contents. Web extensions do not provide any more fine-grained permissions that that. As far as I can tell, it's impossible to create a pop-up dictionary with fewer permissions.

There's no possibility to install other dictionaries at the moment but I hope to release a version that includes Russian definitions for a lot of the words in the next month or two. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Koyama，4 年前This is a great add-on for reading Japanese texts, and it so helpfully provides the pronunciations of/notes on person/place names. Can not wait for something like it on Android! Thank you so much for creating this!
- 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 15013042，4 年前Thank you for this outstanding pop-up dictionary, it is a useful tool for Japanese learning like me. Recently I also installed Yomichan (similar like yours). In Yomichan I can copy the dictionary's explanation. I wish Ricachamp can do the same job too.

发布于 4 年前Hi! Thank you very much! You can copy dictionary explanations by pressing the "c" key when the popup is showing. Then you can press "c" again to choose which entry to copy followed by "e", "t" or "w" depending on which format you'd like to copy in. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Hachisa，4 年前

发布于 4 年前Thank you for your feedback! (For a very quick fix for the font size, you can use Ctrl and + to increase the font size of the entire page which will also increase the size of the popup.)
