The plugin is designed to assist in scientific work, facilitating the search for articles online using their DOI. Its main focus is on academic writing.

The plugin scans websites for DOIs according to a programmed pattern.

DOIs are converted into clickable links, making them easy to access and identify. Upon clicking, they can be opened or redirected to any URL (e.g., a website designated as a content aggregator).

An aggregator can retrieve bibliographic details such as the title, authors, journal name, publication year of the article associated with the DOI, and sometimes even the full article itself! This aids in simplifying the citation process. The aggregator can also add the article for further observation, search for similar articles, and include it in the local library.

The functionality primarily depends on the chosen configuration of both the plugin and the aggregator being used.
