BabbelSky: Enhanced Bluesky Translation

Seamlessly add translations from your favorite translation provider directly to Bluesky posts.

Obtaining API Keys

OpenAI API Key
This is a PAID service. Each translation will use some tokens depending on the size of the translation. The quality of the translation is generally better than Google Translate.

1. Sign Up or Log In to OpenAI:
   
   • Visit the OpenAI website and sign up for an account or log in.
2. Navigate to API Keys:
   
   • Once logged in, click on your profile icon in the top-right corner and select "View API Keys".
3. Create a New API Key:
   
   • Click on "Create new secret key".
   • Copy the generated API key. You won't be able to view it again, so make sure to copy it now.

Google Translate API Key
This is a free service for the first 500,000 characters every month.

1. Set Up a Google Cloud Project:
   
   • Go to the Google Cloud Console and sign in.
   • Create a new project or select an existing one.
2. Enable the Cloud Translation API:
   
   • In the dashboard, click on "APIs & Services" > "Library".
   • Search for "Cloud Translation API" and click on it.
   • Click "Enable" to activate the API for your project.
3. Create Credentials:
   
   • Navigate to "APIs & Services" > "Credentials".
   • Click on "Create credentials" and select "API key". (It is recommended to restrict this key to the Translation API.)
   • Copy the generated API key.
