but.
for a start, it doesn't tell you it's paid until AFTER you download it, rather than in the description - the description straight up says it's supported by grants and investment, nothing about the user having to pay.
and accessibility should be free for all. why should we have to pay extra just to be able to read at the same level as everyone else? especially as people who this would help, those with conditions such as ADHD and dyslexia, tend to be lower income by virtue of a lot of jobs not being suitable for us. so yet another paywall is just insult to injury.
I get that it needs money to keep it supported, but it literally says in the description that it gets 'supported by grants(...)and by investment'
if it becomes free, instant five stars, but I can't justify giving it more than two with the paywall in place... - 评分 2 / 5来自 Axolotl,4 年前Does it help? Yes. Does it look good while doing it? also Yes. That's where the positives stop.
You get 5 free uses a day. A Day. So if you plan on studying with this forget it, or pay up the monthly subscription to what's basically a text re-colourer. Could have been very good, but the paywall is sharp and unforgiving and pretty much preys on those with visual or attention disabilities - 评分 5 / 5来自 Plangg,4 年前Great add-on! Really improves my reading speed and comprehension of Wikipedia articles.

- 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 15696470,5 年前This is an excellent extension, and has greatly helped me be able to read the longer passages in my online school. I have ADHD and sometimes have a hard time differentiating words- this extension completely eliminates that by differentiating each line and word with color. You can also change the color scheme, between greys for a more subtle look, blues and purples for a softer look, and the classic red and blue shown in the screenshots. Overall it's a very high-quality extension and I highly recommend it to anyone who has trouble reading blocks of text.

Statement like "We do not gather any personal information when you use our Firefox addon. If you become a subscriber, we will use your email address as a way to manage your account, but do not ever sell or rent your information." wouldn't suffice.

发布于 5 年前Hi, as we state in our privacy policy, we do gather any personal information (except your email, which is used for account management purposes). We do log usage information anonymously so we know what sites it is being used on so we can ensure that it works well there, but this information is NEVER linked to a user. I'm sorry you didn't think our privacy policy was explicit enough, but a one-star review is a harsh punishment! We prefer to use straightforward language rather than obscuring the truth with mountains of legalese, but if you prefer the latter there are plenty of companies out there that will happily provide it to you. - 评分 2 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 15255266,5 年前I got this for school because my school uses a weird font and my eyes skip around the walls of text that make up my classes, so I thought it would help. The problem? It doesn't work with my classes! It activates before the page is finished loading, and it loads the text last, so the text does not get "beelined."
It works great for other things, but school is about the only thing I do online on my computer. It is also ridiculous that an accessibility addon should cost money (And be subscription-based, are you serious?), as I'm sure there are plenty of organizations that would LOVE to fund the continuation of this addon so that it can be free to the public, and to see it expand to other platforms, since it helps people with dyslexia, ADD, and others so much.开发者回应
发布于 5 年前Sorry that this doesn't work on your class websites. Please send us (contact@beelinereader.com) links so we can investigate and patch things up. I'm sorry that you think this shouldn't cost anything, as ongoing development is very time-consuming, and we've yet to find any organizations that will fund it for free! Please send them our way, if you find them! - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13771992,6 年前

I'm autistic and have ADHD, and have trouble with re-reading lines over and over etc. that this extension has made way easier! The extension itself works absolutely wonderfully, I've given it two stars for that. But it's a paid subscription service now, which is unfortunate and definitely not accessible for an accessibility extension. If I'm reading more than 5 webpages a day (which I am, you all know about us ADHDers and our multitudes of open tabs and Wikipedia binges), then from webpage #6 and on the extension is essentially useless to me, as it doesn't work. I have no way of paying for the subscription fees. So for now, I'll be removing it from my browser. It is really helpful, but I can get on without it.
I'll stress that it does work as intended, so if you have the means to pay for it then by all means do it! It's a great extension. It's just unfortunate that as a disabled person you'll have to pay to make your internet experience as easy as the experience everyone else gets for free.开发者回应
发布于 7 年前We are glad to hear that our tool is so helpful for you! Building and maintaining this plugin takes considerable resources, which is why this is not free forever (just a two-week free trial, plus the five uses per day). Please note that if you have ADHD and autism, your school or employer may be legally required to purchase BeeLine for you. Feel free to email us (via our website) if we can be of assistance in making this happen. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13822551,7 年前It's a really good addon. It helps a lot my old parents to better read the news online. Also it makes me read faster and don't get lost in the line change while reading.
- 评分 1 / 5来自 Spider,7 年前I really love this add-on, but I really DO NOT love the fact that it's a paid subscription service now. It helped a lot with my dyslexia and vision problems, and I found it when it was very new and still in development, and it was a very nasty surprise to suddenly be told I had to pay for it BY THE YEAR.

We also have some limited free options for students in low-income schools. We wish it could be free forever, but then of course we wouldn't be around very long!
