发布于 5 个月前4/5 is a good rating, so thanks for that, but I have to correct a few things here:
-Any sort of visual focus to the center of the word is not a part of RSVP, it's just an added bonus. So this is far from a fundamental issue, or even an issue. In fact, I personally prefer just the highlighted letter. (Which again, even that is not a part of RSVP)
Not to mention the extension already over delivers on what it promises.
-This is the case, in some words it looks like it's not the case because they have an even number of letters, so the reader has to choose a letter which is not perfectly in the center of the word
-This is already the case, the toggle for this is present in 'Advanced Settings'. In addition, a menu item is also there already. I'm not sure if your claim about how reading selected text is less common than reading the whole page is true, but if it is, I think it's just a compliment to the effort put into even an infrequently used feature.
-In my experience, this is the best-in-class extension on Firefox, without a close second even. Not only is it better than the rest in many aspects, it has multiple features that the others cannot claim to offer. So I would like to know what other one(s) you think is(are) better and why. You can email me at flamequests@gmail.com if you're good with that.

- Works great on every website I've used it on. Very useful, polished and functional UI. Only issue is it doesn't really work with pdf's. The alt+p command instead pins the current tab for me. And I can't seem to get to firefox's keybind manager page to change it. Right click>read full pdf does get me to the pdf selector. But that just reads the entire pdf all at once. Which doesn't really work for large pdfs like textbooks. Seems like all that is just a firefox issue though, not the fault of the extension. And it works great for everything else.

-I didn't realize alt+p wasn't working anymore, it's definitely the extension's fault here. But it is a simple fix.
-The pdf reader technically works with pdf files of all sizes, it just gets super slow to start with anything above 50MB in size. This is kind of unsolvable, text extraction starts to get surprisingly demanding with large pdf files. (There is a chance I might be missing some way to remedy this, but probably not)
Maybe something that can be done is instead of processing the entire large pdf first and then showing you it in totality, it instead just processes one small chunk at a time. But then you would have to read it from the very start, I'm not sure how helpful that would be for a proper textbook, you probably just want to read certain parts.
Also, even for the 50MB pdf file I mentioned, I agree that it seems like it doesn't work, because the wait time is still quite a bit, it's easy to think that something is broken. A progress bar could be added for large pdf files to fix that problem.
The alt+p not working is definitely something that will be fixed in the next update.
Thanks for taking the time to write this review, it's very well-worded.

- 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 18309109, 5 个月前Nice try, but there are a few fundamental issues:
- The highlighted letter is missing vertical lines. I understand that this may be a patent infringement, but they are helpful.
- The highlighted letter should be no further than the middle of the word, at the beginning. This is not the case.
- The icon for the highlighted text should be disableable. In fact, reading highlighted text is not that common, so a menu item would suffice.
If all of this is corrected, it will be on par with the best solutions..开发者回应
