- Scope & Commitment
This Privacy Policy explains how LOUGAO, LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards personal information when you use BrowseWiki web, API, or browser extensions. By accessing these services you consent to the practices described here. - Information We Collect
Identity data supplied by your authentication provider (unique ID, display name, email).
Content you intentionally save or generate, including URLs, page titles, archived content, AI conversations, feedback, and folders.
Device metadata emitted by the extension (device identifier, browser, operating system, version) so that we can authorize trusted devices.
Operational diagnostics such as upload status, error reports, and minimal analytics needed to maintain reliability. - How We Use Information
Provide the core features: capturing pages, encrypting and storing personal knowledge bases, syncing across devices, and powering search/chat.
Detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect the integrity of our infrastructure.
Improve product quality through aggregated insights, without selling personal data.
Communicate product announcements or respond to support requests. - Security & Encryption
Sensitive elements such as email addresses, saved URLs, page titles, archived HTML, device fingerprints, and conversation content are encrypted before they are written to persistent storage. Secrets, encryption keys, and other implementation details are kept inside our secure infrastructure and are never shared externally. Access to production data is restricted, audited, and governed by the principle of least privilege. - Sharing & Transfers
We may share data with subprocessors that help us operate the service (authentication, cloud storage, analytics, monitoring), but only under contracts that require confidentiality and adequate safeguards. User-created folders are public to other BrowseWiki users by default so collaborators can discover shared knowledge; you can switch any folder (or your account-level default) to private at any time in Preferences, which immediately limits visibility to you alone without changing how data is encrypted at rest. Our systems are hosted in the United States; when we transfer information across borders we rely on applicable data transfer mechanisms. - Retention & Deletion
We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. You can delete saved pages, conversations, or your entire account from the BrowseWiki interface; we cascade these requests through our storage layers and event queues. Residual backups are purged on a rolling basis. - Your Rights
Access, correct, or export your personal data.
Request deletion of your account or specific content.
Restrict or object to certain processing activities.
Submit questions or complaints to us or to a relevant supervisory authority. - Children’s Privacy
BrowseWiki is not intended for individuals under 13 (or older if required by local law). We do not knowingly collect data from children; if we learn that a child has provided personal information, we will delete it.
