If I for example try the URL of this page in APA-style (version 6 and 7). It should generate something like:
"PlagiarismCheckerX (2022, July 7). Hero Citation Generator – Deze extensie downloaden voor 🦊 Firefox (nl). Retrieved 19 February. 2025, from Addons: [this page's URL]."
But is does not...
Instead you have to fill in allmost all the fields yourself.
I mean: Author, Published date and the URL itself - you allways have to fill the URL otherwise it won't generate a citation ;o)
If you don't fill those items manually you will get something like:
"Hero Citation Generator – Deze extensie downloaden voor 🦊 Firefox (nl). (n.d.). Addons. Retrieved 19 February. 2025, from [this page's URL]."
Same goes for generating a citation for a image, then you also have to enter the URL for the image's location again(?)
Take the add-ons' logo here for example and give it a try.
So what is the difference from doing all this in a add-on or by copying & pasting it (using Ctrl+I for Firefox's page information) yourself?
PS. I can't even get a proper APA citation, even if I fill in all the fields at the moment!
For example: I can't make the citation of my first example: the author (PlagiarismCheckerX) is not even shown in the citation(!) and the name of the site (Addons) is in the wrong place according to APA 6 and 7.
Even if this add-on uses an old APA version, the author should at least be somewhere, right?
