- YouTube Summary AI with Gemini is a solid tool for quickly extracting key insights from YouTube videos. The integration with Gemini enhances its accuracy, providing concise and coherent summaries that save time, especially for lengthy content like lectures, podcasts, and interviews.
Pros:
✔ Efficient and time-saving for summarizing long videos
✔ AI-generated summaries are generally accurate and well-structured
✔ Useful for educational and research purposes
✔ Works well with different types of content
Cons:
✖ Occasionally misses nuanced details or misinterprets complex topics
✖ Struggles with heavily accented speech or poor audio quality
✖ Limited customization options for summary length and detail level
Overall, it’s a great tool for those who want quick takeaways without watching an entire video. While it’s not perfect, the convenience it offers makes it a valuable addition for content consumers. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 17977274, 6 个月前

The "summaries" are extremely long and wordy even on the "short" setting. We should be able to customize the prompt because it obviously isn't that good for short summaries...
3 Requests:
1. Make the "short" setting produce short summaries.
2. Allow choosing a custom prompt
3. Allow choosing OpenAI API using own API key
Thank you for making this anyway! - Great addon, incredibly polished, the only thing that it is missing is the ability to chat with the summary bot, and to add our own api for our chosen chatbot. Please if you see this review add the ability to chat with the summary bot, oftentimes, the summary of the video is way too long, much appreciated

发布于 1 年前Good afternoon, thanks for your feedback. This bug may be due to the fact that the language of the subtitles does not match the language of the video in some video. This problem comes from YouTube, but I will try to fix it in the extension in a future update. - It works very well. Here are a few suggestions :
- When we open a YT video using "Open in new tab" (back-end), we have to reload the webpage to see the "Summarize" button when we access the tab, which is annoying.
- It's not clear how to access preferences, for example to change language.
- That would be great to have an option to disable "Minutes saved"... because I think most people don't care about that. It would help to keep a clean and minimal user interface.
- The number of "Minutes saved" is not accurate, because it takes time to read the summary, and the number that is displayed is the duration of the video. For instance, for a 30-minute video, if it takes 2 minutes to read the summary, number of minutes saved is not 30 but 28. You could reduce the number based on how long is the summary (number of words) and the average reading speed.
- The summary is great, but it would be better if it was not always referring to "The text describes..." or "The author...". I understand that the summary is from the transcript, which is text, but that would be more accurate if there was a way to tell the AI that the source is a video, and not a text (i.e. the speaker instead of the author, or the video instead of the text).
IMO, the first and the last comments should be the most important to improve. Overall, a very good extension, very simple and accurate.
