It has been most helpful. Always handy to have a page color picker AND a "color manager" to quickly find a color when working on a webdesign.
I found myself using the color manager even in other situations, because it was just there... always a firefox instance opened, colorzilla a click away.
Now, since version 3, it is sadly UNUSABLE!
You can still approximately use the color picker to copy a webpage color but colorzilla is now NOT A PERSISTENT WINDOW, it disappears once it loses focus.
This means you can't see the result of your colors fiddling persistently anymore, colorzilla just SHUTS DOWN AND LOSES ALL CHANGES.
How dumb is that?
I have been forced to install another color manager: Sharp Color Picker. This one has a permanent window and won't cut your throat behind your back.
Please, use your extension once in a while, and see for yourself how you made it unusable for all your real users out there.
Anyway, thanks a lot to you for years of good service, it is just sad you made this unfortunate step. - 评分 4 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 12845479, 8 年前i would like to amend my 1-star review of version 3.1 with a few comments on version 3.3, which is a substantial improvement.
1) web page color analyzer.
don't know if previous versions of colorzilla included this feature, because i never saw/used it, but this feature alone is worth 5-stars, as it lays out the entire CSS color palette for a given site, allowing you to easily choose from the entire set of colors currently in use on whatever site you're working on. no need to resample every time (or indeed, any time). huge thumbs up on either adding this feature or making it more visible.
2) Don't move document down when sampling.
another thumbs up, here, and a big reason i've amended my review. you have to check a box in options to enable this feature, but it speeds up the time it takes for the color picker to activate, and doesn't cause strange interactions on pages that use iframes.
3) Automatically start eyedropper when main button is clicked.
uncheck this option in your prefs, and you get single click access to all of colorzilla's options/features, just as in previous 2.x versions. the trade-off is that you don't have single-click access to the eyedropper, but this doesn't bother me too much, especially with the availability of the web analyzer tool.
i haven't had a chance to test out how well the "copy special ..." feature works, but being able to copy rgba values is a boon, if it works.
the numerous bug fixes also make for a more stable plug-in.
colorzilla almost lost me with their 3.1 update, but 3.3 has restored my confidence in this indispensable developer's tool.
so why not 5 stars?
because it's a new version and i haven't had time to truly put the plug-in through it's paces, i don't know whether the bugs that affected my workflow are well and truly gone, or whether or not new bugs have appeared. i hope for the best.
developers should not shy away from installing colorzilla though, which appears to me to have reclaimed its place as one of, if not the most useful firefox plug-in for developers. - 评分 2 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 12346924, 8 年前This addon used to be a life saver but, since the new UI and method changes, it's just awful.
Simplicity used to rule but, now, it's trying to do too much and getting most of it wrong.
Such a pity, but it's now time to find a repacement. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Martin Orvad, 8 年前I've been using ColorZilla for years. It's one of those small widgets I just can't live without. Easy to use. Precise results. Absolutely recommended for frontend developers.
- 评分 3 / 5来自 Николай Егоров , 8 年前the previous version, probably 2.x were great. New just awful - very slow, bugs, and if there fixed elements on the page, it causes conflicts, in the end, the layout of the page spreads, breaking down. Was 5 stars, now a maximum of 3. Sorry.

Thanks for distributing this add-on! - 评分 5 / 5来自 LongTimeUser, 8 年前I have been using ColorZilla for years now and it is really good.
Easy to use, never breaks and the latest release has some really good features - especially the new sampling modes - I have used ColorZilla for years, and as a web developer, it is an indispensable tool.
However, the new UX is not as easy to work with. I honestly prefer the separate window so I can work across multiple FF tabs and with my css files. I think this is where most of the disappointment comes from others.
The added features were nice, but please if possible, bring back the old separate UX/UI window to help keep our workflow .. flowing without having to reopen that panel every time.
Thank you! - 评分 5 / 5来自 glazarides, 8 年前I've been using ColorZilla for many years. Every time I install FF on a new computer, this is one of the first extensions I load. This utility definitely makes finding an exact color code a breeze! Find the color of anything on a web page whether an image, background, or text.
- ColorZilla is an indispensable Design Tool. I regularly use it to identify colors in client supplied logos and images and to match the general color tone of web pages to prominent photographs displayed on the same page. ColorZilla's feature that automatically copies picked colors to the clipboard speeds the process of going back and forth to Photoshop to create matching graphics. The UI is clean and intuitive. And the CSS Gradient generator quickly creates the code for the much lighter weight option of using CSS instead of pixel image gradients. I highly recommend it.
- I've been using ColorZilla daily for years and have found it indispensable. It's accuracy and flexibility exceed that of any other color-picker. Yes, the previous update had glitches but Alex promptly resolved them with today's update. (Thanks Alex!) I highly recommend this add-on.
- I've been using this plugin for a couple years and it's helped tremendously to get colors I want to use in my web and graphic designs. Recently an update changed how the add-on worked and I couldn't get it to work at all. I emailed Alex and he quickly responded, we discovered the issue was my retina iMac. He fixed the issue with the latest version, thank you!
- I LOVED ColorZilla - allowed you to pick out any color (RGB, CMYK, HEX) on the web - a great tool for designers & developers, or someone who just wants the exact color they see elsewhere. HOWEVER, with the add-on update i received today, the dropdown menu on the browser for this add-on is completely different. It looks older than the previous version. Previous version had copys readily available right there in the dropdown whether you needed hex or RGB. I would have given the previous version of ColorZilla 5 stars, but because this version seems to have rolled back the hands of time in design & function, I'm giving it a 3

If a quickly-deployed new update comes out to fix the add-on, I'll change my review to 5 stars. But if you have an add-on that doesn't do what it's advertised to do... the stars have got to go away.
- 评分 1 / 5来自 CanIregisterThisTime, 8 年前This morning I was on a conference call, reading something from a webpage to a client. Suddendly, mid-sentence, ColorZilla decides it wants me to read them "Colorzilla Updated" instead. I wasn't standing next to my computer, so it sat there for several seconds before I was able to continue doing what I was doing. It made me look unprofessional in front of clients and my boss. All this for an addon I've had on my machine for less than 48 hours and have used ONCE (worked fine, at least). Will uninstall.
