The current "Layout 3" comes closest to this, but it wastes way too much space.
Thanks!

Thank you for the review.
What do you mean by "time to update the feeds"? You can adjust feed update frequency individually by feed if you right-click the feed in the feed tree, select Properties and then adjust the "Scan interval" setting. With that a feed can update even every minute. Note that it is not recommended to have many feeds with very short scan interval though. Great, works awesome, I keep the reader open as a pinned tab and it has totally replaced my liveclick extension which didn't make it to FF57. Thanks Feedbro!
I did 10 minutes trying to find a feedbro forum or somewhere to post a problem and get help, but I couldn't find anything. I know review section on FF site is not the place but what else can I do. About 2 updates ago for some reason Feedbro lost all my subscriptions and rules and totally reset. I don't know if this could have happened due to a Firefox sync that I did. Anyway since then one of my feeds (I added them back) seems to be stuck repeating. I can literally reload it every then seconds and it loads feeds from a few days ago in groups of two or three until getting to the current one then repeating. It also removes the newly loaded feed feed from its old position in the list, so there are no visible duplicates. It's like the track of a tank just going in an endless cycle. It's only the one feed and only since I had to replace it after I lost the feed originally. The site itself doesn't have many new updates so I haven't seen how it works when an ACTUAL new feed comes along. I have deleted and reloaded the feed numerous times... I'm pretty sure nothing has changed on the site in question (predb.me). I would appreciate any help with this issue, because it bugs me that every hour there is are a couple 'new' feeds but when I check it's the same ones from that one site.
Edit: Also, where is the 'known issues' section on the 'front page' mentioned in a reply to another user here? What front page exactly?
Please use the support email address mentioned on the add-on page: feedbro.reader@gmail.com
Please send the URL of the feed you are having problems with so that we can sort out the issue. Front page is the page that opens when you open Feedbro (with the Feedbro logo, main function icons etc.). Note that you won't see this if you have selected "Open all items view at start" in Options.
Known issues link is now also on the Help page. The ONLY thing missing in this addon is subfolders and better folder management (folders being listed should appear alphabetically, for an example). Other than that, fantastic addon. Absolutely a keeper.

Hello again :) This time I give 5 stars. Thanks to your previous advice I was able to put and customize all my bookmarks with RSS. I have one more request for the future - it would be great if you could add not only folders, but also subfolders. But this is my fanaberia :) Thank you for this add-on, which allows me somehow to lose the LiveClick loss.

Thank you for your review.
Note that Feedbro scans for new articles automatically in the background so "Update all feeds" button shouldn't be really necessary. Also when you open Feedbro first time in the browser session, it will trigger a scan.
However, we have just added the button to the toolbar (available in Feedbro 3.32.4) since some users want to have very long (or none at all) automatic scanning interval and want to manually check for changes. Note also that this approach makes you easily lose updates since if you only check for new articles every 6 hours and feed publishes 20 articles per hour and only keeps the latest 20 in the XML, you lose many articles since they are no longer available in the XML.
Note also that it's quite resource intensive to check all feeds at once (especially if you have hundreds of feeds). But since many people have asked for this - here it is. I'm very satisfied, this addon is still better and better. The developer improves this add-on very quickly, so I hope it will soon replaces the previously used NewsFOX.
Now I have only one small suggestion - it is not possible (yet :-)) to synchronize the list of feeds with multiple computers or import it directly from the browser bookmark (not via HTML or OPML).
1. Feedbro 3.34.0 now has "view mode 6" that uses an iframe to embed the original article.
2. There's now a button in Options that lets you import Firefox bookmarks. However, due to WebExtension bookmarks API limitations, it's currently not possible to read them automatically or to keep the feed subscriptions as Firefox bookmarks - Feedbro has to maintain the feed list internally.

The other thing is, not matter what I set for "Maximum Entries to save" in a specific Feed, it just uses the default Settings of 100. Maybe thats have something to do with the Timestamp but its just displays 100.
A single Button to Update every Feed would be very usefull. And an option to disable the source under every Feed.
Good addon though, which could need some Improvements.
-edit-
Ok, than thats the Problem.^^ A single HTTP load request should load more than 100 feeds :-)
-edit2-
Iam going to raise my review to 4 Stars. The refresh all button is now there and the warning will be disabled in a future Update. Nice!
But: Please change it so the HTTP load request will load more than 100 feeds. Iam missing something because the addon only loads 100 entries. Thats the reason iam still stuck with Firefox 56 and Bamboo. 5 Stars after that have been fixed.

What do you mean? Feedbro does not hide or drop any articles based on timestamps.
"The other thing is, not matter what I set for "Maximum Entries to save" in a specific Feed, it just uses the default Settings of 100."
This is not really true. The default setting does affect how many articles Feedbro fetches from the feed source (XML) with a single HTTP load request (maximum being 100 at once) but if you set a feed specific max entries to save e.g. to 500, that's the maximum amount of articles that feed can contain - it will just take some time to accumulate that number of articles. Which feed URLs publish more than 100 articles at once?
Edit: Feedbro 3.35.2 can now load N articles with one HTTP GET request. N is the maximum number of items to save for the feed so if the feed has a feed specific max value, it can be even 2000. Trying Feedbro while Brief updates to work on FF57
There's a lot of small issues here and there: lack of support for Live bookmarks (which Firefox has been using for some years now), UI unpredictability and general weirdness (Not only can't I set an exact number of minutes for scan interval, you chose to represent a year as 525600 minutes!), can't drag'n'drop links for fast feed creation, can't select multiple feeds... Mostly minor UI stuff that builds up and makes the add-on annoying to deal with, but It seems likely that they'll get fixed over time.
What really stands out is the rules system. I've got a feed that's always giving me trouble, both here and back on Brief, where marking the "don't mark updated articles as unread" checkbox solved it's hijinks, but since Feedbro lacks that I tried to solve it with rules. The hijinks this time is that every time the scan interval completes, a single, old article reappears as brand new, and my gut feeling was to use the rules to compare if the time at which it was detected was more recent than the earliest article. Sadly, you can't compare articles, nor check any kind of time atribute. So as a emporary measure I've placed a rule to mark all updates from said feed as read, and not notify me of said updates. Bummer.
Then there's another feed that usually posts multiple articles at once, to be read in a particular order. Since notifications are per article, when the update hits I get spammed with notifications, and was about to set a rule to check wetherarticles have been posted within seconds of each other, only to remember I can't check that. Bummer again.
Those are just two specific cases, what Im really trying to get at is that the rules system has the potential to become an incredibly powerful tool.
TL;DR: Feedbro really shows potential to become great, but right now it's just fine and usable. Won't be using it yet, but will definitely come back to check again in a few months to see what's changed.

We'll fix the display of the hard to read intervals. It's true that it's difficult to understand what 525600 minutes stands for. :)
We have noticed that a lot of people who used a different reader before have their subscriptions as Live Bookmarks. Unfortunately the Firefox WebExtension implementation does not let you read Live Bookmarks via the API which makes it impossible for the add-on to use or to import them. We are hopeful to see a change in the API but this will most likely take some time. See Bugzilla bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1418257
Unfortunately there are some feeds that don't follow the rules or behave in somehow peculiar manner. Usually the best option is to notify the feed provider that they should fix the feed rather than trying to fix N different readers to deal with their problems. If e.g. feed posts several articles with the same date stamp and you still want to see notifications, how should the reader behave? Show just the first? Show none? Show all but with larger intervals in between? I used Newsfox before the FF57 update so now I'm using this, and I really like it. Even more than Newsfox.
The only features that I miss are the option to open all the unread entries of a feed in new tab and, more important, the update of old entries when they are updated on the feed.
Overall great addon. Best RSS-Reader I tried so far but unfortunately it can't sync over different devices.
I know that Feedbro can't Sync to Mozilla. But maybe it is possible to sync to my Homeserver or Dropbox or whatever!?!?
If there is any possibility to sync already read articles over different devices I will update to 5 stars! I used Sage until FF 57 was released and it stopped working but since I started with FeedBro (just few days now) and it is much. much more advanced. fast, easy, simple.
One small request if it will be possible to add for a future release: add a link to the source web page. for example: i use FeedBro mainly for youtube. as the youtube feed is limited to the last 15 entries per channel, you want to be able to open the channel's page and browse for the missing upload you didn;t have in the feed.
Maybe to add the link above the view of the feeds or something...
Other than that: great piece of software !

So far I have: added a couple of feeds, played around with the options to customize the GUI.
Everything seems to be working as it should, which is more than I can say of most of the pre-FF-57 feed readers.
The choice in available view modes is great!
My 1st feature request would be: allow to import rss feed definitions from a set of bookmarks (ie. a bookmark folder and its subfolers).
That's because it is the format that is used by Sage (my previous reader) to store the list of feeds.
I know that import from OPML is possible, and it could do, if not for the export-bookmarks-to-opml FF extension not being 57-compatible!

Feedbro 3.32.0 now has a button in Options that you can use to import selected Firefox bookmarks as HTML (first export them in Firefox of course). PS. It seems that Chrome uses the same format for bookmarks HTML export so it's possible to import Chrome bookmarks with the same button as well. I'm trying to replace NewsFox and this addon seems to be good enough.
Is it possible to hide the upper section (All items, Starred items, etc.) altogether thus making more room to the feed?
Is it possible to have the "normal" layout with the article list in the upper half and the preview in the lower hald of the page?
Thanks. All good, just a few issues, however a bit annoying:
1. No option for font size in tree view (hardcoded 11pt, why?)
2. A 3-panel layout (like as in NewsFox) is highly appreciated. Yes, you have to change several css rules from flex to block and place one of drawers horizontally. Sorry if it breaks your conception of modern design.
3. Definitely need an option for hotkeys customization.
4. Not an ideal UX, e.g. there is no way to switch from full article to headers list or tree view without mouse.
I like your extension. It replaces my old one and is visually very appealing. But I have a major problem, so I can't give you 5 Starts yet.
I can't seem to select particular feed entries and mark them as read OR unread. Somehow my feeds got marked as read (I think I figured out why) but I've not read half of them yet. So I wanted to select a batch of feed entries and mark then unread but it's impossible. I can not click on the feeds without extending them (a manual "extend", "collapse" function for each entry would be great for the views where there feeds are not extended by default) and can't select multiple entries either. Apparently I couldn't find even a mass "mar unread" option. :'D
I'd be very grateful if you fix this!
You might want to change keys, too, or allow their adjustment. Because when I type "m" to mark as read/unread for a single thread, firefox starts the in-site search function. Since this has been bugging me anyways I've removed that function in the configurations but I doubt that most users will do that
===========
EDIT as Reply to creator's reply: Yes I adjusted how the articles are markd as read. Still it'll be important to allow the selection of several articles to mark or unmark them.
Regarding the search bar: No it was set like that by default in the Firefox Quantum build. But then again it was synchronised with my old Profile so who knows X'D. Anyways "accessibility.typeaheadfind" was set on "true" instead of "false" in "about:config" ig´f anyone ever has the same problem. It's gone now so if it's just a bug on my side and no problem for others then that's great!

Please open Options page. There you can select how articles are marked as read. Default is when the title of the article is shown (quite "eager" mode), another option is when the bottom of the article is shown (requires that you expand articles and scroll to the end) or manually by unchecking "keep unread" checkbox or by pressing 'm'.
Edit: Feedbro 3.35.0+ fixes the keyboard shortcut issue you mentioned.
