Currently this add-on seems to be for a left handed person. Would be better if that floating icon had options to be removed or relocated elsewhere.
As it is the right-hand side is an annoying area. Why not have the option to put it on the far left-hand side? Rarely does my mouse go there, and on most topic pages and social media the left side would make more sense.
Or better yet, Firefox still has ITS OWN Add-On Toolbar under View > Toolbars. If that icon could be moved to there, or to run horizontally across there, uniformly (instead of the current staggered formation) that would be worthy of itself.
Firefox already had an icon with a Sun, showed 86°, so added that to Firefox's Add-On Bar, which gives me 6 days of forecast. Am guessing Firefox sees an Accuweather link so it added that option. Still, the Umbrella icon sits on the right-side, and no way to move it anywhere on the page to some other location - like the upper-left for instance, or in another bar.
Still, the Forecast Fox still thrives and gives us an option, even if we do not like it, to see the weather on demand. Me, I would MUCH RATHER have it in on Add-On or Extra Tool Bar and displayed horizontally all the time, that can be glanced at, and not be in the way of my other tasks.
I ride a pedal-powered vehicle and I want to know what days look the best for a local or distance ride, or plan my field related work accordingly, and on the fly. Is why I like to see at least 4 days in advance what the weather is going to look like when I have Firefox loaded.
Since this option is not inherently available, cannot give it the 5 stars I would have if it could be more functionally usable as a passive interface - rather than invoked one. - 评分 4 / 5来自 eroock,7 年前... the expanded version could sit on the New Addon Bar (like the old Forecast Fox did) where it wouldn't block the text in the bottom part of the screen. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-add-on-bar/

I could not fix and make version 2.4.9, because 2.4.8 uses the outdated version of jQuery
jQuery 1.x is now forbidden by Mozilla, read more: https://bit.ly/1TRIyZY
and I had to choose - either completely rewrite code for WebExtensions (version 3.4) or completely rewrite code for a new jQuery (version 2.4.9)
I chose WebExtensions.

- 评分 5 / 5来自 alex26,7 年前Hello,
Thanks for your job, it's the best weather extension, very simply to use.
But i have a suggestion for the new weather bar: In the last versions (2.4.8 in Firefox especially) with the addon bar, all weather informations (7 days with nights) was on one line.
Now with the new version and new bar (web extension), to display all info (days and nights), it takes 2 lines.
Would it be possible to make it possible to have the information on a single line as was the case before with the addon bar ? The font size seems to be larger and so the 7 days of forecasts take 2 lines instead of one before.
I now use Opera as a browser because I don't like what Firefox becomes (deletion of extensions, java, flash player, ...) and Operar is lighter. Is theren't on this browser an addon bar similar to the one we had on Firefox?
Sorry for my bad English, i use google translate^^ (thanks for your google translate extension in firefox, it's perfect !)

With the settings you can limit the display of days, nights, icons, labels
> Is theren't on this browser an addon bar similar to the one we had on Firefox?
I do not know.
The current version of Forecastfox uses the same code for Firefox and Chrome (Opera is also based on the Chrome engine)

Social Fixer loses icons when this add-on is in use and Forecastfox blocks my ability to sign into Lowe's web page. There maybe more conflicts but I am not aware of them.

After removing ForecastFox, my pages load smoothly. I've tried everything...but i guess there is no way to eliminate the radar GIF!
- 评分 5 / 5来自 DBR,7 年前Was tired of part or all of aniweather being broken all the time so I decided to look for something new. Saw a suggestion to try Forecast fox & I couldn't be happier. Love the look, layout & multitude of options, although I only changed two the location & Icons because I liked the defaults on all the others. Keep up the good work I love this add-on. :-)
- 评分 4 / 5来自 mike,7 年前I like it, is handy and provides the needed info, but, if Firefox will close support for the XUL, is it possible to have this add-on on some toolbar at least? I don't like it injecting elements in almost any page I open. This is NOT securely because could be used to track user's activity, for instance.
- 评分 5 / 5来自 ononoma,7 年前Dear Developer,
Thanks for all your hard work. This extension has been great!
As Mozilla seems to be making future development/updates of really great extensions “precarious” I wanted to find out if this update will be problematic or breakdown in the future? In other words should I stay where I’m at?
I’m currently using ver. 2.48. Everything is working, including location. I’ve disabled auto updates because new FF compliance's have already broken a few extensions (or will cause breakdown in the future). The first example of this coming to mind is/was X-Notifier. The last two versions are FF compliant, but don’t function. They…. suck. Not the developers fault, he warned months ago this would happen with Moz changing policies and updates. Yet everyone initially screamed at him when it broke down. There was a temporarily a work around, rolling back 2 versions. This made everything work again, but then with another FF update, even the legacy version only partly works.
So In regards to your extension, would you recommend updating to the latest version, or stay with the previous one which I’m running?
My Machine; Window 7 64 bit, latest FF 64 bit version for windows.
One more issue, and if you don’t have time for this one no problem.
I’ve read that if users install FF 52 ESR (I’m not sure what it is and if it’s secure), all legacy versions will work. Wouldn’t using a legacy version of FF, as well as extension present a security risk?
This really sucks for FF developers and users. I really hate Chrome, it’s heavy on resources, super proprietary, nosy and intrusive as hell. I have no idea why Moz is killing the best part of FF, the extensions. Especially security and utilities extensions. The other stuff I could care less.
Also, if Moz is going to make life difficult to impossible (depending on which developer you’re talking to, and their extension) for developers, why don’t you all go to Opera? I’m betting a lot of people would follow.
It’s my second choice browser, and although it’s Chromium based, it’s lightweight and even has a VPN built in. But they have mostly lame apps.
You’re opinion/feedback on this whole Moz turning FF into Chrome and how to proceed would be appreciated!
Thanks for every thing!开发者回应

So I recommend that you upgrade to the latest version - 评分 5 / 5来自 Ronifae,7 年前Although I was unhappy with the removal of the status bar option, I knew there was one more option I could try. So I moved the Forecastfox icon to the sidebar. It is still handy although not as visually accessible as having it laid out on bottom of my window.
Today I installed the latest iteration and now I have not only the sun icon in the sidebar but an umbrella at the lower right of my window.
I don't want the umbrella as the sidebar option gives me all I need with the same effort. How do I get rid of it???
ETA: Thanks, Olesandr. That did the trick. Upgrading my rating. - 评分 1 / 5来自 remmmie,7 年前First THANK YOU for updating Forecastfox. But I don't care what Mozilla says about no more add-on bar after v57, someone will write code to add it back, and many of us simply won't upgrade to 57 until that's available again. If that means not updating FF until Nov 2018 or later, so be it.
ASide from this new vers not being in the add-on bar, I don't like the way it presents. The last version was PERFECT for my tastes... glad I archived a copy. Sorry, this one is not to my liking at all. :(开发者回应

In case of printing you have the bar on your hardcopy.
2)
You should use a fixed height for the text, otherwise it gets bigger and bigger in case you change the zoom and hides the bottom part of your site.
3)
If you have an input part on your site, it´s hidden by forecast开发者回应

I totally agree to Shananiganeer and others who are missing the "One-glance-weather" in the statusbar or any other bar. I used to place it in the menubar.
Whithout this function it is useless for me and I have to uninstall it because of the monstrous popups and the need to push the mouse to its place.
PLEASE rebuild our addonbar functionality.开发者回应
发布于 7 年前The statusbar/addonbar is missing in new versions of Firefox.
The current version of Forecastfox is the version for the new API: WebExtensions (supported Firefox and Google Chrome)
WebExtensions not supported "statusbar/addonbar" from xul-addons like as "Addon-bar restored", "Status-4-ever" , etc
These are the inevitable changes in Firefox - all Xul-addons is die in Firefox 57 (November 2017)

The point is, the current display of the forecast is intrusive and obscures the content of some sites. And that is ignoring the very annoying default display that pops up if my mouse goes over the icon. If there is truly no way to tuck everything away neatly in a toolbar, then the addon has lost all value for me and there is no coming back. I realize that this isn't your fault per se, but that doesn't excuse the poor design choices made to circumvent it.
FYI: I am currently using an older version of this addon with the Pale Moon browser.
EDIT: If I hide the forecast bar, I might as well just bookmark a weather site and uninstall the addon anyway... Please don't give bad suggestions to legitimate problems.开发者回应
