Yes, they write about that in their FAQ, but there is no warning when you install their app.
UPD. Oh, they reply there to other people concerned about their app, I quote:
> Our app provides more security, stability and speed than Firefox extension alone. That is why we have decided to rely on our app exclusively, browser extension alone would not be able to provide the quality of connection that we strive for.
