1) It probably makes more sense to remove the settings preview at all, and show settings page in the extension popup, making it so that you can see the changes on the page immediately...

However, this extension is currently rather in a "maintanance" mode, as it has proved to be unthankful work to keep up with frequent Google Search page changes. In fact, many of its features and options were scraped within the last year or so due to becoming obsolete. Therefore I can't promise I will get to it anytime soon.

3) I am not sure, because I can not reproduce this issue on my computer. Maybe you could create an issue ticket on this addon's Github page with screenshot?
