The term “Personal Information” as used in this Privacy Policy shall mean any information that actually enables, or is capable of enabling us to identify you, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identifier such as your name, identification number, location data, online identifier or one or more factors specific to you.
Information We Collect
When you use our HealthGuard browser extension, we may collect “Electronic Identification Data,” including: Internet protocol (IP) address; Information about the computer, mobile device or other device you use to access the browser extension, such as web browser type, language and version, screen size and other transactional information; Geolocation information (this is limited to the region from which you access our browser extension); and Information about your visit, including pages you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information and methods used to browse away from the page.
When you use our Browser Extension, we collect the above information as a part of the HTTP protocol specification, but we do not track or store it.

When you use our Browser Extension, we do not collect your Personal Information. We use only your Access Code, which is not connected to any Personal Information, in order to activate the Extension.
Data Processing in the United States
If you are using our HealthGuard Browser extension from outside the U.S., be aware that when we authorize your access code, the servers are located and operated inside the U.S.
USE OF COOKIES AND OTHER SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
We use cookies and other similar technologies to gather Electronic Identification Data, and we use HTML 5 local storage objects to help the browser extension function correctly. When you first access our browser extension from certain jurisdictions, you will receive a message advising you that cookies and similar technologies are in use. By clicking “accept cookies”, you signify that you understand and agree to the use of these technologies, as described in our Cookie Notice. Your access to the extension will not be affected if you do not accept cookies. For more information about our practices in this area, please see our Cookie Notice.
We also allow select third parties (e.g. Google Analytics) to collect Electronic Identification Data about our browser extension users to provide us with better insights into the use of the browser extension provided you have given your valid consent to such collection. Such Electronic Identification Data is received on an aggregated basis and cannot be used to identify you personally. When using the browser extension, this tracking only occurs if you interact with the browser extension (e.g. hovering/clicking on a shield). We do not track when a shield appears on a page or what pages they appear on.
BROWSING HISTORY
When you visit a website with the HealthGuard browser extension enabled, the browser extension sends the website domain to NewsGuard’s servers to check whether a rating and nutrition label exists for that site and, if one does, to display that rating and nutrition label in your browser.
However, NewsGuard does not collect or store this information or any information about the websites you visit. The servers and load balancers that receive this information do not store or transmit any logs of this traffic.
NewsGuard cannot and does not use data about the websites you visit for any purpose other than to serve its ratings and nutrition labels to you as you use the browser extension.

We recommend that you regularly consult this Privacy Policy, to make sure that you are aware of any changes.
