Jobalysis is a private, offline-first resume analyzer that shows you exactly how well your resume matches any job posting — in seconds, directly inside a sidebar. Upload your resume once, open a job description on any website, and get a percentage match score, the skills you already have, and the skills you're missing.
✦ WORKS ON ANY WEBSITE
Built-in support for LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Workday, Handshake, Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby. A smart fallback reads job descriptions from any other career page, company site, Notion doc, email, or text area.
✦ WHITEBOARD MODE FOR EDGE CASES
Job posting locked behind a PDF, Google Doc, or login wall? Open the Whiteboard tab, paste the description, and analyze. Your pasted text is saved automatically so you can paste bits and pieces across multiple sessions without losing work.
✦ MATCH SCORE + KEYWORD BREAKDOWN
A visual percentage ring shows your overall fit. Below it, two lists: the skills your resume already covers (green checks) and the skills the job wants but your resume doesn't mention (red minuses). One-click copy of the missing skills list to paste into your resume updates.
✦ ON-PAGE HIGHLIGHTING
When enabled, Jobalysis underlines matched skills in green and missing skills in red directly inside the job description text on the page. See at a glance which requirements you hit and which gaps exist. Zero footprint before you click Analyze — the extension never touches a page you haven't scanned.
✦ 2,900+ SKILL TAXONOMY
Covers software engineering, data, product management, marketing, design, and general business roles. Handles common variants (JavaScript / JS, PostgreSQL / Postgres, Kubernetes / K8s) and word-boundary nuances (C++, C#, CI/CD).
✦ PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Everything happens locally in your browser. Your resume, job descriptions, and match history are stored in your browser's local storage and never sent to any server. No account required, no login, no tracking, no analytics. When you uninstall the extension, every trace goes with it.
✦ PRIVACY CONTROLS
Optional "Remember my resume" toggle — off by default, your resume is cleared automatically when you close the sidebar. Turn it on if you want your resume to persist across sessions. One-click "Clear all data" wipes everything instantly.
✦ RESUME SUPPORT
Upload PDF or DOCX resumes. Parsed entirely in-browser using Mozilla's PDF.js and Mammoth — no external services, no uploads.
✦ LIGHT AND DARK THEMES
Follows your system theme by default. Manually override to Light or Dark in Settings.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Click the Jobalysis icon to open the sidebar
2. Upload your resume (PDF or DOCX)
3. Open any job posting in your browser
4. Click Analyze — see your match score, skill matches, and gaps
5. (Optional) Enable on-page highlighting to see matches and gaps underlined directly in the job description
Perfect for active job seekers, career switchers, and anyone tailoring their resume to specific roles. Use the missing-skills list to identify what to add to your resume, or to decide which skills to focus on learning next.
Jobalysis is independently built and supported. If you find it useful, there's an option to support the developer's graduate education in Settings — completely optional.
