This add-on does exactly everything I need it to do - and now that I look at all the new features - tons of stuff I won't need to utilize (that could be useful in the future however). I can't thank you enough for this add-on, it really is a GEM.
The workaround required to access directories outside of the downloads path isn't a problem and I can't criticize you for FF's shortcomings.
It's really a great feeling seeing how far this project have come, good-luck in the future, I will certainly keep using this a lot in my daily routine. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 14264273, 7 年前For years I used 'Save file to' to sort my porn. I liked it because I could have my porn on a thumb drive and when it was removed the links disappeared removing all evidence of my porn collection.
Nowadays I have a more private setup and don't care so much about that but when Firefox upgraded and 'Save file to' stopped working I missed it. I tried this extension but it wouldn't save outside my Downloads directory. I looked into creating a replacement, but discovered why: The new security model doesn't allow saving outside Downloads directory. So I say whatever, I'll save all my porn into incoming folder and sort later. I still missed the uniqueify functionality though.
In the meantime I create a bunch of scripts to make sorting/tagging easier. https://pastebin.com/u/ukaran. Regret this functionality couldn't be somehow integrated into a save file to extension - maybe with p2p sharing to make a distributed imagefap.com...
Then I think - wait! I can put a symlink in my Downloads folder to my incoming folder and get back the uniqueify functionality.
When I come back here to re-download this extension I see that technique mentioned in the instructions.
Should have thought of it earlier..

- A huge relief to have a functional version of this essential feature in the new Firefox. The only piece missing from similar legacy extensions (unless I'm missing something) is the ability to nest a group of folders in a submenu. One of the main places I use to sort images has 20 subfolders, and listing all those on the main level of the menu would be impractical. Right now I'm just holding shift & opening the save dialog for that folder to choose the subfolder I want, but being able to nest the menu (assuming it's possible with webextensions) would help a lot. Adding some kind of character that could designate a specific folder as "always open the save dialog" (regardless of shiftkey) would be handy too. Thanks for developing this, keep up the great work!

I want to use MIME Type on Dynamic Downloads matching.
if no extension, I can set it Automatically! - It is so UNFAIR that some people complains about symlink.
It is TOTALLY FireFox's fault for adding such restriction in WebExtension since 57. Please go give FireFox 1 star instead of the addon. FireFox just need to 'fix' it.
The restriction is really silly, if an extension can fudge a web page and lure you to download a virus, why not letting a legit extension to access file system for productivity!
That aside, I can't or don't know how to save link target of an image link instead of the image, is it not supported? - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13679228, 7 年前Finally an extension like this! Incredibly helpful to save pictures/files in different folder without having to spend the time to choose the folder or reorganize the download folder every time. Thank you!
