Highly recommend for saving your Tab Sessions.开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Thanks for the nice review. I can tell you that I already have "Session Buddy" in my review list of what feature and ideas I can use to further improve the overall experience. - 评分 4 / 5来自 retreta83,7 年前Extensible very convenient, but it would be even better if the pinned tabs were restored identically (pinned, with mute sound, etc.). I would have liked also the possibility to rename saved sessions by a name more explicit than the date and time of creation. Otherwise good job, hoping to see one day my suggestions to the works.

发布于 7 年前Thanks for the feedback. So in reverse order:
1. You can actually rename sessions. Just double-click on them or right-click -> edit. (Only sessions saved as bookmarks not those auto-saved that can be removed after a certain time)
2. Support for pinned tabs will be added for sure. Should be available in the next release. Mute information... guess I might be able to add that as well.
Once all the suggestion are implemented if you're happy about them remember to update your feedback score.

There is currently no way to save and transfer sessions on mobile, other than manually bookmarking and deleting every page.
The only other thing I could ask for is the ability to use this add-on, or an add-on like this, as a tab management tool, much like the chrome add-on "tabs outliner", which can unload currently opened tabs from ram while keeping those tabs attached in the same place to the same window. Please consider this as well, thanks!开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Thanks for the feedback. I can definitely see a pattern over the last few days. Yes I do plan to have a mobile version, It was not of high priority but I will try to make it as soon as possible. But please understand that there's simply no way to offer the same experience as on desktop so I will have to make a complete redesign for Mobile and that's why I was not able to provide it right away. Even this versions runs on Android (tested it) but to put it simply put... it's the user experience is just awful (not even okish). I mean... the whole UI opens in a webpage and it's extremely complex to do anything because it's to small... some things might not work as expected because of how mobile interaction works and so on...
What that mean... definitely I want a mobile version, but since I need to rethink the whole UX (similar to most mobile apps) it will take a while for it to happen. (Or maybe not that much but can't really make a promise at this moment)
Regarding the unload option... Yes, definitely a great idea and I might be able to implement it pretty fast (if the API does what I expect).
Feedback is really valuable for me so thanks again. Also, thanks for raising the rating to 4 from the initial 3 (that's what I've seen in the mail) and I hope that once some of the new features you're waiting for will be implemented you will remember about this feedback and maybe reconsider it for a 5 star :D - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 14019612,7 年前
- 评分 5 / 5来自 AndyL964,7 年前Accidentally reported this add-on for abuse... so sorry about that. But anyway...
Thanks for making this extension! It's got great UI (especially the colourful buttons) and is filled with features and customizations, and best of all: no more importing/exporting for saved sessions; very ingenious of you to make use of Firefox's Sync feature!
I would really appreciate it if you could add drag-and-drop support (for manually reordering sessions/tabs from a specific session) in addition to the multi-selection support (which would be awesome if you want to save/open/delete individual tabs/sessions) that others have requested in their reviews!
Also, I was wondering if you would be adding support for Firefox on mobile (and maybe even Chrome) anywhere in the future. I currently use TabCloud on Chrome, which I wished the developer would add support for Firefox Quantum, so it would be really nice if this add-on had cross-browser support. If not, even if it's just support for Firefox on mobile, it would be great!
And also, it may just be me, but I find it a bit ugly how the text can appear under the star and x buttons in the search bar, but maybe that's just me.
Edit: Thanks for the quick and detailed reply.
Feel free to take your time adding the features; the extension is already amazing as it is right now. I'm not a very experienced dev yet, so I wouldn't know if how difficult adding support for Chrome is, but either way, I really do appreciate how you're doing all this for the community.
And I see your point... it's a lot of work to code a completely separate UI just for the mobile platform. Considering how big the PC version one was, it'll definitely be difficult to fit everything onto such a small screen. Thank you for mentioning it, though, and for the suggestion. It's not very ideal, but at least it's also not terribly difficult to access the sessions, but it is still quite annoying to have to open each tab individually.
I see, I'm glad I pointed it out then. I actually do give my sessions really descriptive names sometimes, so maybe you're right about how you might have missed it.
Anyway, it should be me who's thanking you for taking your time to reply, and for your dedication. I'm looking forward to any and all the future updates and features, and I wish you good luck on your journey!... Oh, and also, congrats on being one of the three winners for the extensions challenge!开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback. Really glad you like it.
Regarding features:
- probably I missed to add that to the feature list but drag-and-drop support for reordering tabs will definitely be implemented (as soon as the next minor release 3.1.0)
- multi-selection is a little bit more complex to implement it right now so I'm not sure if I can make it available at the same time but I definitely want that feature as well and it will be added for sure asap
- Do I plan a version for Chrome... more or less yes... but at the same time this is not really a business model for me so since I don't get anything from it I don't really intend to promote Chrome over Firefox but the other way around. Inter-browser vendor syncing (to have the same sessions on Chrome and Firefox) is definitely not possible unless a third-party sync functionality is used (like XMarks was before closing down just a few days ago). Otherwise, you will have to manually make sure you sync them or treat them as 2 completely distinct ecosystem and use each one independently. So yes... I do have plans for Chrome as well, but for the moment Firefox is my priority (and will always be because the of the community).
- Support for Firefox on mobile... well that's a little complex to do. The problem is that I have to write a complete new UI experience and even then it may not be that easy to create something useful. The good part... till I can figure out a way to add support for Android you still have all your sessions as bookmarks under Bookmark/Desktop Bookmarks/Session Sync. Not the ideal UI... but at least you have all of them.
- [text under images] No... that's not just ugly... it's definitely stupid of me for not observing it. Usually I don't do long searches and I'm not bothered by it so I might missed that case. I'll have a fix for it in the next release.
If you want to request more features or provide other details please feel free to do that on the Github development page https://github.com/ReDEnergy/SessionSync/issues or just contact me directly via email (open the help page of the addon -> top right corner you can find a feedback button with my address mail)

发布于 7 年前Thanks for the feedback. I believe it's a valid idea so I'll try to add an option to do that in next updates. - 评分 5 / 5来自 nickclarkson,7 年前I have 1 issue; auto-save doesn't appear to work for me. I have it enabled, set to every 300 seconds, but it's not saving any sessions for me. That aside, this addon still worth 5 stars, as every other addon (except the "old" Session Manager") has had real issues. I just manually save every so often now. I like how it uses bookmarks, because they're saved/synching already.
UPDATE: Hi, thanks for the quick response. The issue is a non-issue; I wrongly assumed the sessions were saved in the "Sessions" tab, but I think if I'm right, and from from reading your explanation, that's only the manually saved sessions. The auto-saved session is under the History tab. I think that's what confused me :) I see it now anyway; I just closed FF and then opened and then went to History, and the last session was there (i.e. the previousl current session). I think I was thinking it worked like other similar addons. Excellent addon, tyvm.开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Thanks for feedback and for the nice review even though you seem to have some issues.
I'm not really sure what could be the problem in your case. I think that I quite failed to explain how the auto-saving functionality is implemented and that might create the confusion that saving is not happening. First of all: auto-saving will rewrite the same saving slot and not create a new one each 300 seconds (or whatever time you set). So after 20 minutes, you won't have 4 saving slots but actually the same one updated withing the last 5 minutes. A saving slot is actually created only you open the browser. (If you close the browser and the open it again you will find the previous session saved there and a new one called Current Session which will be used for all the saves from when you restarted the browser) As I don't really use the auto-saving feature that much (I actually disable it for myself) I probably fail to understand how it may be perceived by other user. The way I implemented felt right for me but I've seen some addons that actually keep a copy for each save point so I assume that the behavior I implemented might be unusual or not that useful for some people. I will try to provide some options to configure the auto-saving just the way each user expects it...
I'll try to provide an improved auto-saving experience (as well as better documentation) as soon as possible within the update. Thanks again. - 评分 1 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13998124,7 年前

发布于 7 年前Hi. Can you please provide a reason why would you rate the addon with 1 star? Did you have any issue with it or didn't like something about it. Just rating the addon with 1 star without providing any detailed feedback can be very misleading and I can't possible know why I can do to improve it in the future. Thank you. - 评分 5 / 5来自 SakisX,7 年前Perfect tool ! Very easy and beautiful gui .

Thank you very much mr. Gabriel!开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Thanks you as well for the support and for the nice review.
I don't think that Firefox will ever integrate it :D. Yes it might be useful for a lot of people but that's why addons exist, and of course, it's actually better like this, in a way... Because I can expand and update the addon with many new features without being limited by some specific rules or direction. I have a lot of ideas (I would say good ones) and also lot's of requests that I look forward to implement. Of course, I will try my best to offer more options but at the same time keep the UI and UX as clean as possible. You can take a look over here and in case you have any recommendation I can definitely say that I take into consideration community feedback new features.

https://github.com/ReDEnergy/SessionSync - 评分 4 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13974557,7 年前1) restoring in new window doesnt work for me
2) it would be perfect if the addon remembered the tree structure of addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tree-style-tab/开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Hi. Thanks for the review. Regarding the issues:
1) [later edit] I have a fix and it will be available shortly for everyone (https://github.com/ReDEnergy/SessionSync/issues/35).
2) As of right now I don't plan to add a tree structure feature. I'm all for offering as many options as possible but such feature is quite complex to be integrated and creates a lot of issues with storing the information inside the bookmarks system. I'm not saying it can't be done, it's just not a priority for the moment. Since I don't use Tree Style tab I might not understand fully how useful it may be so I will have to try it out to figure if the feature can be added or not. I want the addon to be a good all around session/bookmark manager but at the same time I'm not directly trying to copy what others do, unless there's a clear benefit for users. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13118510,7 年前

- 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13903678,7 年前Best bookmark/session/tab management add-ons till date.
But still need some improvements and options.
1. Option to show Small preview of saved tabs
2. Multiple selection of saved tabs to restore instead of all.开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Thank you for the review as well as for providing feedback. Regarding the requested features: I already have in plan to add support for multiple selection (soon) as for the saved tabs preview. I need to figure out a good solution for it, since bookmarks storage does not support adding additional storage information, real-time preview might not be as fast as it should and any kind of additional storage that's not inside the bookmarks API would be a little problematic for syncing and caching. I have some ideas but definitely is not something really easy to implement, but I can see why it would be helpful, so If I can find a good solution I will try to add this as well.
Thanks for using the addon. - 评分 4 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13937513,7 年前
