You don't necessarily need this extension if you have Ublock Origin installed (which features an element picker that can do away with virtually any comment section you come across) but if all you really care about is blocking the comment section universally then this is all you need.

Finally... Has its quirks but it might be the best add-on since sliced bread!
This app saves you from imposing of meaningless comments. I think, when I follow journalists or another creators I do not follow random people who write comments which I can't hide. Thanks you, Ricky Romero, for this app.

That's really weird – I don't see this problem on my system. Does the problem go away if you remove and reinstall Shut Up? If not, does it only happen on certain pages or all of them? Let me know what you find.

Been telling myself for months I should try avoiding youtube comments, as they're often depressing and infuriating, yet I always just wander into them.
This does exactly what it says it does, and is handy if you're trying to decrease your intake of the landfill of idiocy modern interwebs has become. Re-enabling them is just a click in the top bar away, but it is much nicer not having them there by default... Some sites like Quora or Youtube have nested comments, so when you hide them all of them disappear. However, when you expand them again, it doesn't seem to expand the part if the person has written a lot of information. On Quora, it's labeled as (more) and on Youtube it's called "read more". You have to manually click on the "read more" or "more" in order to expand the whole comment.
