来自 True Partner,1 年前Update: Thank you, it finally worked. Though, once it said Finished, Firefox froze for some time before places. SQLite was being updated. It took about 25 minutes. Original places file was 105mb, this new one is 90mbs; which is okay. Better to lose 15 than 105.
Thank you for all your help.
Doesn't work. It successfully exports the history, but when you import, even when it's finished, nothing happens. Your old history doesn't come back.
My Firefox version is 110 32bit. There are no errors. It says Finished Successfully. But History remains the same. No new addition to it or Places.sqlite file.
Note that export file is 41Mbs. Maybe large size is the problem.

发布于 1 年前Edit 2: The freezing is just firefox indexing/managing all the new history, don't think I can do anything about that. There's probably some extra data lost, maybe times visited or even individual visit times. I count these as unimportant though.
Edit: releasing new version with a fix (hopefully) and optimization.
Can you give some information on your device and browser version? Maybe even check the extension in debug mode with console for any errors?

This is exactly what I needed to recover from a corrupted places.sqlite that my new profile was only finding 12 history entries but old profile still showed them all. Your History Export was able to grab nearly 139,000 records and import them into my new profile in under a minute. Then it took Firefox about an hour to parse it all and add it to my Library. Verified the integrity in about:support afterwards, all is good!!

Thank for the description added,
and your (very fast) reply.
And i understand you don't investigate more for Waterfox Classic.
Maybe you can add in the description that the export button work too if we don't select a file:
In this case it export the history of the browser profile where the addon is installed.
And if we select an other file, it do the export from it...
I tested to use the Normal Export from the History widows of Waterfox Classic(a .json file),
and import it to Quantum:
Same results..
But it import too my Bookmarks folder (which i don't need).
Your extension import just the history, which i wanted.
But stay the visited links problem:
Maybe a cookies thing ?
Old Review:
Thank for this tool!
Not for all day use, but a time saver when we need it, for sure.
I tested to move my History from Waterfox Classic to Firefox Quantum.
Before, for the test, i deleted all the history of my Firefox Quantum.
A - Into the Option panel of your extension
- Select the "formhistory.sqlite" from my Waterfox Classic profile.
- Do an export (Obtain an "data.json" in my Download folder).
B - Open My FireFox Quantum.
- Select the previous "data.json",
- Click to the import button.
After a quick time, seems working fine!
Small problem:
I notice if the pages from my Waterfox are in the new history,
inside them, their links visited are not highlighting, like i expected.
For info, I keep my Browsing History and have a CSS for that.
My Request /questions:
1 - It's normal or i need to do something more?
2 - Maybe there are an incompatibility between Waterfox Classic and Quantum?
Another request:
For info too:
The Export seems not work with your extension installed in Waterfox Classic,
But for Waterfox to Quantum, all can be done in Quantum...开发者回应
发布于 9 个月前Visited links should be working, I don't notice anything wrong with that per se. It might be that the browser is just busy managing all the new history in the background, maybe even awaiting a restart.
I won't be spending time to work out if it does or does not work in waterfox classic. It's more than likely the addon is using features just not available in that browser.
I added a description, I shouldn't have been lazy to begin with :)
If you have any notes on the description let me know and I could change it.

发布于 1 年前The import/export is found in the addon settings in the addons section in the browser settings. Apologies it's not that straight forward - 评分 4 / 5来自 Rev,1 年前It works, but it doesn't preserve the history's "Most Recent Visit" dates, and all history items are loaded in sequentially in reverse order.
Still, for what I needed it to do, it worked. I have a couple of questions for the developer, however:
1. I know this add-on was intended to be "quick and dirty", but do you intend to continue working on it at all? This is the very first add-on I've ever used that *finally* delivered what I've been searching *years* for! So, I'd love for it to achieve its full potential with one or two more features.
2. If you are not planning on further development, would you be able to direct me to a similar add-on that *does* preserve history items' dates/times?
Thank you for your time and effort, Skyweb. I nearly gave up on the idea of being able to save my FireFox history. I look forward to your reply.开发者回应
发布于 1 年前I actually did include the visittime in export and import but due to various reasons (my own mistakes) it didn't work. I've never second guessed it but since you brought it up I'll release a fix.
If there's other feature requests that fall within the "quick and dirty" scope or slightly outside let me know and I'll see what I can do. - 评分 5 / 5来自 dtaj,1 年前Export functionality:
The export seems to work. After installation, go to Manage add-ons. There you can export and import the history. When exporting, I receive a file "data.json". I have not tested whether this is error-free or complete. But it seems to be. For me, this is already worth 5 stars, because you can finally save the history in plain text.
Import functionality:
What did not work on my computer (Firefox 114.0.1, 64-bit, Windows, German) is the import. A file can be selected for import, but with the just exported file "data.json" in the size of 669 kByte only the name was displayed in the add-on, an actual import did not take place here. After selecting and confirming the file, nothing happened. I hope the programmer can change this in a future version.
Data protection:
The code is only a few lines and in the current version no data is transferred from your own computer to the outside at any time, everything is done locally. TOP!
Thank you for this already useful add-on!开发者回应
发布于 1 年前Thank you very much for the in depth review :)
I only used this extension once to migrate my history from desktop to mobile and it worked so it's wondrous it doesn't import correctly on desktop.
I've uploaded a new fixed version that should (hopefully) work properly on all devices. Just waiting on approval for now.
Edit (2 minutes after replying):
Version 0.2 is approved!
