This only sorted the taskbar bookmarks, not my list of bookmarks. Ugh!

This add-on sorted my Bookmarks well.

Wanted something that does one thing and does it good (vs boatware) - this addon was perfect. Keeps my bookmarks sorted by the criteria I defined. Keeps choices refined to the few primary specific to task, avoiding the clutter of trying to do too much - resulting in the ideal performance and a 5 star rating from me.

EDIT:
It does nothing on Firefox 76.

Finally a good extension which does not require the "access-your-data-for-all-websites" permissions.

I could not find out how to

Does what I need it to do, which is sorting my rather large bookmark list in alphabetical order by title.

does not appear to sort the main bookmarks folder
but sub folder are sorte
i know this use to work correctly but for whatever reason no longer sorts this main bookmarks menu

On the positive side, this add-on respects separators and sorts within them. Auto-Sort Bookmarks does not respect separators. On the negative side, this add-on does not provide an option to exclude selected folders from sorting. Auto-Sort Bookmarks does provide that option.

Lacking an option to exclude folders, it's important to be able to manually sort the folders you want to exclude from automatic sort. However, this add-on will automatically resort your manually sorted folders every time you restart Firefox if you have the "Always keep sorted" option enabled. If you don't keep that option enabled, you'll have to manually sort each new bookmark.

Three stars for a good start, but this add-on needs more work (as does Auto-Sort Bookmarks).

What kind of Hell are FF Android users stuck with? This, like a couple others, install on my Nokia 6 but then do absolutely nothing.. I abhor Chrome on my phone so now what?
