Privacy Policy for Tab Volume Control

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

What We Store

• Volume levels for each tab (stored locally in your browser)
• Volume lock enabled/disabled state per tab (stored locally)
• Auto-leveling enabled/disabled state per tab (stored locally)

Where It's Stored

All settings are stored locally in your Firefox browser using the standard browser.storage.local API. This data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is not accessible to websites
- Is not transmitted anywhere
- Can be cleared by removing the extension

Permissions Explained

• "activeTab" - Required to inject content scripts that control audio elements
• "tabs" - Required to track which volume setting belongs to which tab
• "storage" - Required to save your preferences between browser sessions

Audio Processing

The auto-leveling feature analyzes audio in real-time using the Web Audio API. This analysis:
- Happens entirely within your browser
- No audio data is recorded or transmitted
- No external services are used
- Processing stops when the feature is disabled

External Requests

This extension makes zero external network requests. All functionality is self-contained.

Updates

This privacy policy may be updated with new versions of the extension. Changes will be noted in the version changelog.
