来自 Hyōkkuda Ryōsan,7 年前Stylish add-on version 2.1.1 for Firefox 56.0.2 and below used to be amazing. I used it for so long due to its simplicity to modify pretty much any websites and even the Firefox browser itself. But the version past that is the complete opposite of what it was before. It look exactly like the ugly, bright and confusing version on Google Chrome browser.
I never liked writing codes on Chrome because of the way the text field area is all displayed. Plus, it's literally forcing me on a new tab and the way it was displaying my installed/active/inactive styles was also pretty awful and annoying. Literally unfriendly to use. When I was writing a code on Firefox, everything was in the same floating window until a few version later where it was forcing me on a new tab. Luckily, thanks to the extensive customization on Firefox, it was possible to fix that by typing about:config in the address bar then searching for extensions.stylish.editorWindowMode and set the value to 1 to have it back as a window.
Previously, I could press the preview button and see my changes behind the floating window instantly being applied to the website or page to know if I like them or not. But in this version, since it's just like on Chrome, changes aren't applied instantly. You constantly have to refresh the page to see your changes which is very annoying, unhelpful and very unfriendly.
Since this new update, I literally lost over 15 styles I was working on in the past months and I had no backup of these styles on my hard drive or things like that. I looked at the "About this version" and other tabs where I could see some of my styles already installed, but the most important, or those that were not uploaded to the website yet were no where to be found.
When I reverted back to Firefox 56.0.2 due to tons of extensions missing or incompatible, I had to go through a lot of trouble just to disable Firefox automatic updates because it kept forcing the update Firefox 57 on me every time I restarted/launched Firefox again. There was no old versions compatible for Stylish add-ons, so that's also why I had to revert back on Firefox as well. In the end, thanks to the Firefox sync feature, all the styles I previously lost to this new update were back in my list.
