EDIT: today i lost my session, i tried to restore a saved copy with this addon and it failed, firefox crashes because this addon refreshes every tab it restores and the program can't do it with many tabs, even with 100 tabs its too long

发布于 4 年前Hi, thanks for your comments and sorry to hear you're having trouble!
Regarding the deletion behavior: In general, Tab Stash is built with the expectation that any changes made to your groups should be explicitly done by you, not automatically. This helps to keep everything organized--my observation with other browsers and extensions has been that if groups are kept up to date automatically, it's really easy for tabs to get lost or irrelevant things to creep in. For example, if someone interrupts you to ask a question, and you open a new tab or re-purpose an existing tab to handle the interruption, that tab will show up in a group where it doesn't belong. Or worse, you will have lost something in your stash, just because you navigated away from the page you wanted to save.
There are also some technical limitations--Tab Stash stores everything as bookmarks, which are slow to update. If we were to keep your stashes in sync with every single change to your tabs, your browser would slow down considerably to handle all the bookmark updates.
So if what you are looking for is something closer to the "tab groups" features found in other browsers, I'm afraid Tab Stash won't be a good fit for you.
Finally, regarding restoring tabs: In order to re-open a tab which has been closed, Firefox itself must refresh/reload that tab from cache. This is entirely outside Tab Stash's control and is a necessary part of restoring the tab. You can avoid some (but not all) of this by telling Tab Stash never to unload hidden tabs (so the tab is still ready to go), but that comes at the expense of higher memory usage, and Firefox may still decide to unload the tab if memory usage gets too high.
That said, your point is well-taken that restoring a large number of tabs might slow down your browser, and we should probably show a warning to this effect. I'll keep this in mind for a future release!

- Absolutely a crazy good addon that is surely the killer feature of Firefox. I am so amazed how quickly and smoothly this addon can manage 1200+ groups and 36000+ tabs across 20 devices. It's simply unbelievable. Thank you so much for this great addon. Great softwares truly can change people's life in such a positive way.

I'm also happy to hear it's performing well for you; that's something I try to pay close attention to. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 18997982, 16 天前Please add flag to create with old folder name when search is active instead of the search terms
>edit
Instead of whatever is typed in search , i would like the option for folder names to be created as in Version 3.1.1
Search terms as folder names are too contitional , restrictive to work without affecting stash organization even more when having to manage numerous diverse tabs
The search terms can be regex , random , short , ever changing etc ; they ignore the how often a new folder is created that can be set in the addon options when the search term is changed ; selecting and chosing to create a new folder will just do the same and can lead to duplicate folders if the search terms remains the same , at least in this case the folder names with 3.1.1 format would not be identical ; now if technically speaking the search term would check not only the topmost folder in the stash root but check all top folders (not sub folders) then it would just stash in a old folder where in this case the outcome wouldn't be desired so theres no avoiding this issue
3.1.1 naming format didn't had those downsides and was simple to work with开发者回应

- When I install Firefox on a new device, there are three add-ons that I install immediately: my password manager, uBlock, and Tab Stash. That's how useful this add-on is for me.
I like using it when I have loads of tabs open and I desperately need a clean slate, but I have neither the time or the brain to filter through my open tabs to figure out which are important (and where to save them), and I risk being filled with dread over potentially losing something I want to come back to later. Tab Stash allows me to have the best of both worlds by allowing me to have my clean slate and also hoard tabs.
Filtering through those saved tabs is also super easy, if I ever wanted to organise my saved stuff, or revisit past browsing sessions. Let's be real though, the way I use Tab-Stash is like a kid shoving all their mess under their bed so their room looks tidy when parents come to inspect. Realistically, it doesn't help me to be more organised, because I'm too ADHD for that. What it does help me to do is make peace with my chaotic internet browsing habits, which helps to reduce general guilt from being a mess. For me, Tab Stash is an essential part of my online self-care, because even if it only gives me an illusion of a clean slate, that's good enough.开发者回应
发布于 2 个月前A little bit (or maybe a lot) of mess isn't necessarily a bad thing! (Pardon me while I just, uh, shove all of my unnamed groups under "Sort Me"... >.>;;)
In all seriousness, I'm really happy to hear that Tab Stash is helping you keep things... maybe not organized, but at least well-contained enough to give you some peace of mind. Thanks for taking the time to write a review! - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 14273350, 3 个月前
