I wish it was possible to remove the tab list (leaving only the buttons) but this is fine already. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Kenneth,1 年前Thank you for creating this addon. This makes it lot easier to use the browser.
There is a major bug where it display closed tab in the tab bar list. And you can't tap the close button to close it. You have do a page refresh and it will update the tab bar list.
The easiest way I find to reproduce is the following steps.
1. Make Firefox as the default browser in Android.
2. Open Google app.
3. Click on a news link. It should open in a new tab in Firefox
4. In Firefox, do a back gesture to close tab. Now it will switch back to the Google app.
5. Once you are back in Google app, open Firefox and you will the last closed tab display in the tab bar list. You can't tap close button to close it. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Caio Henrique,1 年前

Despite this,I hold the view that the author did a really good job.Equipped with the extension, the Android Firefox seems to be a real desktop browser when running on Samsung DEX,taken as desktop pattern on my phone.
I appreciate that you provide phone users with such a interesting function. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Leo,2 年前

Until I saw this I thought this would not be possible, because on mobile the browser UI elements can't be modified, but using an iframe is a pretty smart workaround indeed.
Some options are missing though and a at least somewhat prettier design would be really nice.
Personally I'd use it on a phone, not a tablet, so options to remove the back, forward, refresh and new tab buttons would almost be required, as well as moving the bar to the bottom of the screen. Further modifying it's height or font size and especially setting an url for the "new tab" button other than google would be great too. That being said, awesome prove of concept, excited to see other creative addons for mobile like this one. - 评分 5 / 5来自 BigThunder1,2 年前Hi Jan,
I'm interested in your add-on and did everything you said, downloaded the nighty from the Google Play store and went into > Settings > About Firefox Nightly and clicked 5 times on the logo to open the additional settings. There's no "Add-ons" section per-say, just an "Advanced" section and, underneath is "Add-ons" and then "Custom Add-on collection". I clicked on the later and created an add-ons collection entering the info you suggested. When I opened it, it was empty.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 and the add-on section defaults to Add-ons For Android, which is extremely limited in the offerings. This add-on is not listed and when I came to this page it just has a message about going to the Android Add-ons page when I click on Add to Firefox and will not download the extension.
I'm extremely aggravated that Mozilla didn't allow for an option for the user to add a Menu bar as in the desktop version which is why I wanted to try your extension. It's not a menu bar, but it would give some control. I just hate the way Firefox For Android, and specifically the tablet version, is being developed.
Any help/advise would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply Jan.
Did exactly that and still nothing. Even reinstalled from Google play. Got a forum thread, post a link here please. Frustrated and I'm not new to this.开发者回应
发布于 2 年前Hello,
the addon collection was empty on my device too, I had to restart the Firefox Nightly app.
One step I forgot to say is to open the Addons menu in Firefox (three dots - Addons - Addons Manager)
There select the addon you'd like to install. There are currently two, this one and Get RSS Feed URL.
Also please make sure you entered the addon collection details letter for letter in Firefox.
Hope you can use it now:)
EDIT: If it still doesn't install (it should), the best solution would be to contact Mozilla about it. Depending on how technical you are, you can either file a bug report yourself, or talk to Mozilla support at support.mozilla.org
