发布于 6 年前Thanks for the review. Unfortunately I do not speak any Russian so I'm not qualified to do translation but the extension is open source and supports i18n internationalization - all you have to do is translate a single file (messages.json) and create a pull request on GitHub.- 评分 3 / 5来自 JackieKu,6 年前Being here because the experience of Edge. The equivalent there was simple and FAST.
This addon, makes no mistake in terms of functionality and it did what I was looking for.
Using the UI is not quite fun, however.
The biggest issue is, it requires multiple steps to access the mostly used function.
For "tabs aside", it needs
1. click the toolbar button.
2. move the pointer to the first menu entry.
3. click it.
I know there is a keyboard shortcut, but I am not a fan of that.
It would be much better if other options are moved to right-click menu and left-click directly put tabs aside.
Also, when removing a session, the user can be asked for two confirmations at worst, yet there are no options to remember the decisions.
Anyway, thank you for making this useful work. - 评分 2 / 5来自 Honza Bambas,6 年前There is a number of small bugs that ruins this add-on. If those little glitches were fixed, this would be a great session management tool! But the developer doesn't seem to maintain it any longer.

发布于 6 年前Thanks for your review. Last month I had little to no time to work on this project but I am back on it now.
Version 3 is currently in development and I expect it to ship with Firefox 63 later this month.
Tabs aside started as a small script that took all your opened tabs and created bookmarks for them and "grew" from that. Unfortunately the code became hard to maintain therefore I am doing a complete rewrite using Typescript. This new version will fix some of the bugs & bring new features.
Please consider checking out v3 and sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
If you found a bug that is not listed on the github issue page please submit it. - 评分 4 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 14302719,6 年前Its a fantastic and very useful add on. Something I was just looking for to put tabs in a side for future usage. I have a question about how can I add any tab in my previously stored session?
Example: I have stored 3 tabs in a session today. If tomorrow I have another 2 tabs related to same topic which I want to add in that previous session then how can I do that?
Currently, I have ended up with 2 different sessions of the tabs for the same topic.
Please help about it.开发者回应
发布于 6 年前Thanks for your review. You can add single tabs using the tab context menu: right lick on the tab in the tab bar and choose "Tabs Aside" -> "add to existing session". If you want to merge to sessions, you will have to do it manually via Firefoxs bookmark manager, at least at the moment. At some point you will probably be able to do that from the sidebar but the currently the development focus is on other things. - 评分 4 / 5来自 Graham Beard,6 年前

发布于 6 年前Thanks for the review. I am currently working on v3 which also brings support for partially activated sessions, that means you can open the tabs just by clicking on them in the sidebar. Unfortunately this will still take some time until release. - 评分 3 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 12201810,6 年前Slowly figuring out how to ue this addon. But.. I can't find a way to delete/remove sessions. Help please.

发布于 6 年前I guess the addon has a bit of a learning curve (I hope the next version that I am currently working on will improve on this front). You can delete sessions from within the sidebar (Alt+Q) clicking on the 3 dots next to "Restore tabs" and chose "remove session". There is also a context menu for the individual tabs in the sidebar. You could also use Firefoxs bookmark viewer since sessions are just bookmark folders. Hope this helps :) - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 14134844,6 年前Its great to use to save memory and increase performance by closing unwanted tabs and accessing it again when needed.
- 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 14110368,6 年前Thank you for this add-on! One of the best features from Edge brought over to my favorite Firefox browser.
- 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13343314,7 年前This addon keeps me from going to edge.
I love that you can name your sessions, its unbelievably helpful as i'm trying to keep track of tons and tons of tabs.
"If you ever choose to uninstall this addon your sessions will be kept in your bookmarks" is also an incredibly helpful feature.
You have seriously saved me lots of time and will save me more in the future as I continue to use this extension, be proud dev!
The only issue I've found is that if you remove a session while you have the sidebar open in two windows, the session will disappear from the first window but not the second in the ui. The bookmarks folder that hold the session is still deleted, its just that the UI of the second window sidebar hasn't refreshed yet. Maybe you could make the sidebar in every window refresh when you delete a session in one window? Minor issue anyways.开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Thanks for reviewing the add-on. Sidebar synchronization is a known bug (https://github.com/tim-we/tabs-aside/issues/12) that will be fixed in a future version. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13509709,7 年前Good extension, but active sessions from last update don't keep tabs that I opened by myself. I used this algorithm before:
Working in a window - Set tabs aside for a while - Continue work from where it stopped
Now I can't set all tabs aside, so could you add tracking for all tabs in a window? Or maybe you can add an option to turn active-sessions-feature off? Anyway, thanks for development开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Thanks for your review.
What do you mean by "I can't set all tabs aside"? `Set aside` will still set all tabs (except those in an active session) aside. You can also add tabs to the session using the tab context menu (right click on the tab -> Tabs Aside).
But I really like the idea of tracking a whole window, therefore I created an issue for that: https://github.com/tim-we/tabs-aside/issues/21 - 评分 3 / 5来自 akhil,7 年前I really like the set aside feature in edge, Tabs Aside is the extension that came close to set aside feature. I think that there is a lot of room for improvement. When I Click show sessions it minimizes all the sessions except the first one, It may be intentional but I would really like an option for turning off auto minimizing. And it is not visually appealing compared to set aside in edge, I mean showing a thumbnail would be a lot nicer if not just the icon of the website.
And also It feels somewhat tedious to always use mouse for using tabs aside, I would really appreciate keyboard shortcuts. Files in the computer are not being set aside, I would request you to make that as an option as well (a little check mark for setting aside files in the computer)
One more thing I just remembered, the session numbers are always increasing, please look into that.开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Update 1/24/2018: I just submitted v1.17 and you can now turn off auto-minimizing.
Thanks for your review. I agree with pretty much everything you said there. Unfortunately the API does not allow creating tabs with privileged URLs, that includes file:/// URLs (local files). Those tabs could be set aside but not restored. Therefore I decided not set them aside at all. (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/tabs/create)
The next version (v1.17) will include an option to not auto-minimize sessions.
Any specific ideas for keyboard shortcuts? Please let me know: https://github.com/tim-we/tabs-aside/issues/7
I do not see a good way to implement thumbnails. If anyone has good idea of how to implement this please let me know: https://github.com/tim-we/tabs-aside/issues/4
Suggestions and contributions (this is an open source project after all) would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback & suggestions. - 评分 5 / 5来自 likivik,7 年前1. A huge Thank You!!!
Does what it promises, useful, looks good on a panel, saved tabs can be viewed from mobile(yay!). Overall great for people like me, who go on searching spree, open a bunch of tabs, and need/want to use browser for something else entirely, but don't want to lose their research:) Priceless stuff.
2. I Really hope you'll continue development. (All those folks who were using OneTab before WebExtentions will jump on this).
You've already done an amazing job, so just in case you'll be adding more functionality, would be nice to have:
a) Open, reorder, delete individual tabs in a session and reorder sessions themselves
This actually can be achieved simply using Bookmarks, so maybe just a link to the Tabs Aside folder would be enough(I don't actually know if that's achievable tho)
b) Option to choose default behavior of "Restore Session" (Either it deletes by default, like now, or instead deletes with 'ctrl')开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Update: I just submitted v1.13 which allows you to choose a default behavior for "Restore Session" in the addon options
---
Thanks for the review. Yes I will continue development.
As far as I know it is not currently possible to open the bookmarks sidebar or the bookmark window programmatically. I was hoping for a simple solution like that as well.
I am planning to add some configurable options, a default behavior for "Restore Session" is a great idea for that, I will definitely add that. - 评分 4 / 5来自 Laurel Raven,7 年前What I was looking for is something that mimics the Edge tab set aside feature. This comes really close, but the one thing that keeps it from really shining in my opinion is the ability to open individual tabs that have been set aside. Otherwise, this is a really good start; thanks for making it!
Update 2017-12-20 for 1.13: Added a star (up to 4 now) for the ability to open individual tabs that have been set aside. I'll update to 5 stars if you allow for removing individual tabs from a set-aside group as well (so that if I have several tabs but want to set them aside and deal with them one-by-one that'll be easier), and as a nice-to-have, it would be great to be able to have an option to open and remove from the group at the same time (and maybe an option to make that the default behavior). It's coming along nicely, though, and with this update I can make it a bigger part of my workflow. Thanks!开发者回应
发布于 7 年前Update: I just submitted v1.13. You are now able to open individual tabs from the sidebar. Please consider updating your review :)

Thanks for the review. I agree that there should be a way to do that. This will be in the next update ;) - 评分 5 / 5来自 AYoungDuk13,7 年前*Updated for version 1.10 on 2017-11-29:
THis project is under active development, which is always reassuring. Since my previous reviews, the author has added helpful new user tool-tips and added some polish.
Like some, I have been looking for a WebExtensions successor for OneTab. This application handles the basic premise of "Click to save all tabs from a window, and later restore them to a window". This extension calls its grouping of tabs "sessions" and it uses a provided Firefox sidebar to show you your saved tab groups as collapsible lists.
Overall it handles this basic functionality really well and cleanly; it is much better than the others I have tried. The provided Tab Sidebar is a new part of the project that the author is building on, but I cannot speak to what plans there are to expand the functionality in the future. For those wanting a detailed explanation about the current functionality, I will expand below, but the short of it is: the extension's provided sidebar (Tab Sidebar) allows restores of entire sessions, as well as renaming the sessions, but currently you won't be able to further organize the sessions or the sessions' tabs within this sidebar - you can however do this from the Bookmark Sidebar, now noted in the tool tips. Within the Bookmark Sidebar you can also handle organization of the sessions and sort/move/delete individual tabs.
I will mention that I still think this add-on could be used to build out a complete, featureful tab manager that rivals/surpasses what OneTab originally did. The main potential bonus I can see is it's integration into Firefox bookmarks and Sync. Because it ties into the bookmark system, this should allow a user to sync the sessions through their browsers. Note, I personally haven't tested this, but it should be possible. Potentially even on mobile too!
I think this add-on is worthy of a 5/5 rating on its own, where the main intent was for a simple/clean implementation. As the developer commented to me, it was orginally intended as a simple implementation, and it does this really well!
For more details about my description, what this extension appears to do is create a bookmark folder, and when you save a new session, it adds the session tabs within a new sub-folder. I think this approach is rather clever, with some real potential benefits, a-la Firefox Sync, where this folder structure and session-folder bookmarks could be shared between browsers. In general though, from the bookmarks sidebar (or bookmarks manager window) you are able to reorganize the the folder order (the session folders are shown in reverse order to how they are listed in the Tabs Aside folder), and you are able reorganize bookmarks/tabs within (and between) these folders. In fact, I could see some power users preferring to use this add-on as a method of quickly creating sessions, and then using their own bookmark manager for organization (ie the bookmark sidebar).
Currently, the extension's Tab Sidebar is tied into the behavior of the session creation. When you save a session, it opens the Tab Sidebar, makes the new session list, closes the tabs, and opens a new tab page. A couple of configuration options here could really help allow users to make this part of the experience as personally efficient as possible.
For future feature requests, I think being able to further handle organization from within this Tab Sidebar would be really slick, ie changing their order, and being able to sort/move/restore individual tabs (like OneTab did). You could even start building in some of the extra features like "staring"/pinning sessions that OneTab had, while still utilizing Firefox's underlying bookmark system to allow these things to sync across machines.
Just wanted to tell the developer, great job here. I wanted to take the time for this long review and to personally contribute financially because of the hard work done, and hope others will contribute as well. I think this has the potential to be the best Bookmark/Tab Session manager we've seen to date, and can't wait to see what you plan to do with it!

发布于 7 年前Thanks again for your lengthy review. The sidebar has room for improvement and I have some ideas for that, including session reordering via drag and drop. Unfortunately that has to wait a bit since I am currently working on version 2.0. This next major version will extend the session functionality quite a bit.
Thanks for your support :) - 评分 3 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13506562,7 年前i really wish that i could give this addon a better rating because i think it has potential. it is obvious a lot of work has already gone into it so thanks for your efforts sop far.
I think a lot of people are searching for an effective tab manager to replace the panorama based grouped tab addons that have previously been available..
this addon has the potential to do this. whilst i am not familiar with the technical problems of doing this with the new firefox code, i am aware that there are limitations which are not easy to get around.
the things that i am looking for are
- holding the pinned tabs in each and every session session
- when selecting and naming a session, that switching to another session closes the open session (but retains it) and retains all the tabs in that session
- adding tabs to a currently opened session automatically adds those tabs to the saved session
- when the session is reopened, it does not attempt to automatically reload every tab in the session (perhaps unless you want it to). trying to open maybe 50 or more tabs simultaneously can slow things up quite a bit
- being able to place each of the tabs aside directories in the bookmarks toolbar (or having its own toolbar) which would mean that you would only have to select a bookmark directory (with a click) and it would open as it was left and the previously selected directory would resave and close.
i am not sure if i have missed anything and some of these things are already available and whether or not these things are even possible, bit i will check it out again in the future.
i really hope that this can be done.开发者回应
发布于 7 年前v1.16 now supports root folder selection also there is an option for pinned tabs.
Also you can add single tabs to existing session via the tab context menu.
I know that is not exactly what you asked for but it is getting closer :D
There is a way to load tabs only when they are selected (like the LoadTabOnSelect extension).
I plan to include this in v1.17 or 1.18. - 评分 1 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13497511,7 年前Addon description is inaccurate e this isn't really a tab management add on and more like a session manger. A very poor session manger. I tired to restore a session and it attempted to reload a 150 tabs slowing my computer to crawl. Which caused me to hard reset my system. When I rebooted all my tabs were gone. Stay away.

发布于 7 年前I found a way to prevent this using a technique similar to the extension LoadTabOnSelect.
