来自 Firefox 用户 17430460，2 年前I just had to write a review to say that the ornery person who gave a 1-star review, "Firefox user 13236401," has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Being taken seriously must be a major issue in their life. I mean, who writes like this?
"Social Media, eMail, Shopping, Medical, financial and SPAM"
That capitalization is all over the place. We haven't written it as "eMail" since 1995.
The reason for it needing access to all site data is clearly documented, and this applies to any web browser's extensions because that's how they work. When an add-on is open source, that means you can see what it's doing. You could spend 10 minutes and make it yourself. You can also see if it shares user data with any entity. So, while you go about your crusade against "SPAM," rather than blaming a small developer who's providing a free service, maybe just learn to look things up. I suggest starting with Google, Wikipedia, or The Free Dictionary.

"Works well, and this extension is even better than the official one because it doesn't act on double-clicking to open the dictionary right away; I often double-click to select text for reasons not related to a dictionary look up."
Folks, if you ever double-click a word or a phrase on a web page for something other than dictionary look-up, you want this extension rather that the official one put out by Farlex, Inc. for TFD. For, there is no option with theirs; double-click and be whisked immediately to their website. No hesitation, no exceptions.
On the other hand, this extension by polizz uses the right-click context menu. For the sake of a couple more clicks, you have the flexibility to do other things. Such as Search Google. Or, if you have it installed, using the "Wikipedia context search" add-on that appears on the context menu below this one. - 评分 1 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13236401，6 年前Any extension with Permissions to "Access your data for all websites" is severely exposed to Privacy, SPAM and/or Security risks.
They can potentially access all your online accounts Social Media, eMail, Shopping, Medical, financial and SPAM all your email. Ever wondered how coincidentally you receive SPAM emails for related information and products you were browsing on the internet, this is one of the ways they accomplish this. I don't have a problem with monetization models but this is unacceptable and inexcusable!

PS: Thank you Mozilla for finally improving extension security awareness (better late than never), but there is still room for significant improvement. When someone is adding an extension with this particular level of Permissions, a popup warning/confirmation dialogue box should be displayed along with examples of potential exposures is a must!开发者回应
发布于 6 年前1. ) You say extensions are exposed to privacy and security risks - if you sincerely believe that, you should report it to the Mozilla browser project and not specific extensions. They would need you to provide some actual specifics to back up that claim!
2. ) I'm not sure who/what "they" is/are.
3. ) A widely known method for detecting what one "browses on the internet" is third-party token access - this does not rely on add-ons at all. If you feel comfortable downloading it, I recommend the EFF's Privacy Badger add-on for giving you control over that.
4. ) Regarding monetization, this add-on was developed by me and given freely to you and everyone to use. I received nothing for it, but am happy to share something that I found useful for myself. One is also free to self-educate by reading the source code on Github. One can modify it and contribute something back to the community! - Then you can read and respond to funny review comments ; )
5. ) Thus, it is very easy to see that the source code for this add-on does nothing but open tabs. Unfortunately, that tab usage requires broad privileges in the current implementation of Firefox. If you take umbrage with this, as I did, perhaps you could open another issue with the browser team - add-ons have no control over that.
