Apparently website owners are able to pay Adblock Plus to show you advertisement regardless of your settings - that's not what the add-on is supposed to do and in no way does it honor the free internet culture around Firefox.

Hello!

That is not true at all! No company can pay us to have their ads shown. We do allow some ads by default as a part of our Acceptable Ads Initiative but ads must meet the criteria before they are whitelisted. Also good to know, is that a lot of companies who's ads meet this criteria don't pay us anything at all. Users who do not wish to see these ads, can turn off "allow acceptable ads" in their settings. You can find out more about Acceptable Ads here https://acceptableads.com. If you still see ads please report them to us here support@adblockplus.org and we are happy to troubleshoot with you.

    This will remain a 1 star until ABP decides to stop interrupting my mornings with pop-up ads. Other ad blockers have enough common sense not to CAUSE THEIR OWN POP-UP ADS. When good ad blockers like uBlock Origin update, they do it quietly without bothering the user. The people at ABP thought you wouldn't mind annoying adverts if it was from them. Advertising to me a product I already have installed is a sure sign these people do not respect users time.

    I like the ads blocking. I wish it had a way to actively save the whitelist. I keep having to re whitelist things, with an import / export of the config files.

    We appreciate your feedback. We use a system called smart allowlisting: if you do not visit a website that you have allowlisted within 7 days, it gets automatically removed from your allowlisted websites. If you visit it in 7 days, it will get renewed for another 7 days.

    Работает, наверно, лучше всех среди бесплатных адблоков. Иногда на некоторых сайтах проскакивает реклама, но ее можно зарепортить и ее через какое то время убирают

    it says it blocks ads on Yahoo Mail, but it doesn't. Nor on Yahoo.com. at least not on my computer.
